"P90!? You jerk! Where are my clothes!?" MDR's piercing scream echoed from the bathroom.
She had only been away for a few minutes, and her clothes had mysteriously vanished.
There were only a few people in the house! Who else but P90 would sneak around stealing other people's clothes!?
"Ah, MDR? Weren't you with the Commander just now?" CF05, who had just returned from checking the vertical farm, saw MDR standing at the bathroom door and asked in surprise.
She had just seen MDR standing next to the Commander, boarding a helicopter to the power plant!
"How is that possible! I've been in here the whole time since the power went out! I haven't left! That must have been P90 disguised as me! Ugh! When that person comes back, I'm going to give them a piece of my mind!"
MDR roared angrily, clutching a towel in one hand and her phone in the other, then stomped back to her dorm to find something to wear.
Watching the irritated MDR leave, CF05 scratched her head in confusion. "Wait, is MDR's phone waterproof? Does she even take it with her when she showers?"
On the other side, Renault looked at the 'MDR' in front of him expressionlessly, feeling a headache coming on.
"So, are the messages you just mentioned true or not?" It was like being pecked by a goose after spending all day trying to catch one. He hadn't even noticed that the MDR in front of him was actually P90 in disguise...
It seemed P90's disguise skills had improved significantly, and even the voice was identical. Did she secretly record MDR's voice and then mimic it herself?
She had just received a new neural core, and now that she had some space left, she started playing tricks.
But it wasn't necessarily a bad thing. At least it improved her disguise skill level by +1, just as long as she didn't always use it on her own group.
Unfortunately, P90 currently only had access to fellow operatives, otherwise, would she have run to the southern Sangvis Ferri Manufacturing Factory to steal clothes from those Rippers?
"It's true! It's definitely true! I heard it directly from MDR!" Hearing Renault's question, P90 quickly raised her hands, her phone looking conspicuous in her grasp.
It was just an ordinary touchscreen phone.
If it weren't for seeing P90 taking selfies with this phone, Renault might not have realized that she was impersonating MDR.
MDR's phone was modified, with a flip cover and buttons, each one heavy and crisp, not like a normal phone at all.
According to MDR, the buttons on her phone were like triggers for her own imprinted weapons. Every press felt like pulling a trigger, so when MDR was around, there were only three possible sounds.
One was the sound of her taking photos, the second was her making sarcastic remarks, and the third was the sound of her pressing the buttons on her phone.
P90, though resembling MDR on the outside, lacked the 'core.'
"When did you hear about this?"
"Um, about four or five days ago, but MDR said she only saw it on the anonymous forum after it was posted."
Renault mulled about it.
Four or five days ago, and only discovered after the anonymous forum was opened. There could have been delays of several days or even a dozen days in between.
It couldn't be ruled out that the rioting of the autonomous dolls in the Sangvis Ferri Manufacturing Factory erupted shortly after he left. After all, the one controlling Sangvis Ferri Manufacturing now was the humanoid AI released by Lycoris.
For that Ai and the others, Lycoris was like their own father, so it wasn't surprising that the AI controlling Sangvis Ferri Manufacturing would do such a thing.
"Commander, where are we going this time?" Seeing Renault's silence, P90 scratched her head, curious. The Commander only said they were going to the power plant, but where exactly was this power plant?
Why did they need to take a helicopter there?
And with Simonov and P38 accompanying them, bringing all their weapons and equipment, it looked like they were going into a battle!
But what about her!? She didn't bring her imprinted weapons! She only had a few MDR magazines on her! She definitely didn't have a gun, as the imprinted weapons of the operatives were always connected to them, and she hadn't even touched MDR's imprinted weapons!
So she didn't even have a knife on her! The only thing that could be considered a weapon was the hand grenade in MDR's bag... but why was she holding a grenade? As a souvenir... Wait, this grenade seems to...
This is a power bank, not a grenade, damn it!?
Discovering the true identity of the "grenade" in MDR's bag, P90 was on the verge of collapse! What if a fight broke out... Would they end up having a street brawl like they did a few days ago, grabbing bricks again!?
Seeing P90's desperate expression, P38 turned her head, stifling a laugh, then asked Renault with some concern, "Commander, if we fly straight there, won't we be exposed to anti-aircraft fire from the local city?"
"It's a possibility, but don't worry. If we do get attacked, just jump out before it crashes. Then, we'll figure out what to do afterward. There won't be any problems."
"Oh...?"
P90, who had been feeling uneasy because she didn't even have a decent weapon on hand, felt even worse after hearing this!
What do you mean don't worry? What do you mean jump out before it crashes?
They're in a helicopter, for crying out loud! A thousand meters in the air! Jumping out would turn them into electronic scral!
P38 and Simonov, on the other hand, nodded understandingly at Renault's words. It wasn't impossible to do, as long as the helicopter wasn't blown up in mid-air, they could jump out before it crashed.
And once they got closer to the city, they could fly lower and possibly evade radar detection.
Furthermore, although there were heavy cannons on the quarantine walls of the city, those were used to deal with large Heavy ELID infected, and since infected individuals couldn't fly, there was no need for anti-aircraft defense.
No actual outskirts city controllers would waste money on anti-aircraft defense unless they were determined to shoot down official aircraft.
"No! Why are you two so calm! Wait a minute! Don't we have parachutes here! We can just wear parachutes and jump out when the time comes!" P90, flustered, looked around and happened to see a few emergency parachutes left by the armed personnel inside the cabin.
"Hmm? Even if that antique from decades ago still works, it probably won't hold you. You're overweight." Renault glanced back at the clearly outdated life-saving parachute in P90's hand and waved it off.
