Chapter 178 - Chapter 178: Unidentified Enemies

Two armed helicopters and a transport helicopter were parked nearby, accompanied by an armored vehicle bristling with weaponry. A dozen armed personnel in protective suits stood by the armored vehicle, ready for action.

"Each helicopter has only one pilot, and the same goes for the armored vehicle. Should we focus on taking out the vehicles first?" As M1 Garand and the others rounded in a pile of rubble, they immediately spotted the vehicles parked in the clearing. Given the estimate value of these vehicles, M1 Garand thought it prudent to consult Renault. After all, they might need them in the future.

"I'll handle the helicopter pilots. No need to hold back on the armored vehicle or the personnel." Renault frowned as he observed the helicopters nearby.

He hadn't expected them to arrive by air. Despite being in the workshop all this time, he hadn't noticed the noise of the helicopters.

Normally, other T-Dolls would have heard it, as helicopter noise wasn't subtle. However, Renault had built corridors between several buildings to avoid frequent disinfection of T-Dolls entering and exiting the farm and equipment workshop.

Unfortunately, this precaution had allowed the enemy to sneak up on them.

"Move!" Simonov and Nagant Revolver swiftly aimed their shoulder-mounted cannons while running. Their cannons were loaded with armor-piercing rounds, perfect for taking out the armored vehicle.

Meanwhile, M1 Garand and BM59 went after the armed personnel. With their 30mm cannons and high-explosive incendiary rounds, they were more than capable of dealing with the heavily protected enemies.

"What's that noise?" Although their protective suits dampened external sounds, M1 Garand and her team's footsteps, amplified by their powered exoskeletons, were unmistakable. Even the slowest of the armed personnel would notice.

But before they could react, Simonov and Nagant Revolver's cannons were already aimed at the armored vehicle's side.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

The BK27 cannons fired almost simultaneously, sending a barrage of armor-piercing rounds directly at the driver's position!

At the same time, M1 Garand and BM59, also prepared, opened fire with their GSH301 cannons, sending a volley of high-explosive rounds toward the clustered armed personnel!

The protective suits, which had given RFB and others trouble earlier, crumbled under the attack of the 30mm cannons. The dozen armed personnel standing together were instantly reduced to scattered fragments.

With the drivers taken care of, courtesy of Renault, and the armed personnel decimated, the battlefield fell silent.

"Commander, there are still two inside the building. They're coming out," M1 Garand said, noticing an armed personnel jumping out of the window.

Bang!

However, before the armed personnel could even stabilize, BM59's cannon fired a series of shots, turning the assailant into pieces.

"Let's keep watch. Don't let anyone escape." With the building leaning and half of its door buried in debris, entering it meant passing through broken windows. Simonov, in her powered exoskeleton, was the most suitable to go inside and pull out the remaining enemies.

M1 Garand and her team dispersed, surrounding the building tightly.

"Hey, Simonov, have you ever flown a helicopter?" SPAS-12, holding her breach axe, asked Simonov casually.

"We've got three helicopters here. The commander is definitely going to pilot one back, right?"

"Of course not! I only know how to drive a car, how could I have flown a helicopter!?" Simonov rolled her eyes at SPAS-12's question. She wasn't some all-around special T-Doll; she had only driven a car before becoming a tactical T-Doll.

However, as she spoke, Simonov couldn't help but glance at the helicopters. Armed helicopters aside, she might be able to handle the transport helicopter.

Bang! Clang!

While they were conversing, a series of fights broke out inside the building.

After the gunfire ceased, Renault emerged from the window, dragging three limp figures.

The figures lay motionless, their helmets still on. Some T-Dolls couldn't understand how Renault had defeated them, but upon closer inspection, they realized that all three had limp, lifeless heads, indicating that Renault had snapped their necks.

After pulling them out, Renault removed one person's helmet and began searching their protective suit.

"Commander? What are you doing?"

"Looking for any identification or documents. These guys in protective suits have shown up more than once. If we can confirm their identities, we can figure out how to deal with them in the future."

Sure enough, Renault found a small booklet resembling an identification card. Inside were photos, names, like Alyosha, and a series of personal information.

Though detailed, the booklet provided no clue about the organization these individuals belonged to. The only meaningful letters were the ones stamped on the booklet:

KCCO?

What's that?
