The two mercenaries sent by Perez to take out Renault approached the truck cautiously, one in front and one behind, staying low to avoid detection. From their vantage point, they could see Renault standing by the front of the vehicle.
However, before they could even fire, Renault stepped onto the truck's bumper and disappeared from their sight.
One of the mercenaries abandoned stealth and dashed out from the side of the truck, spotting Renault leaning against the front. Just as he was about to open fire, a bullet flew from a distance!
Snap!
Like Peyton before, M200 didn't miss a shot in this exposed situation. Despite firing twice in the same spot, wasn't it time to relocate? Renault had upgraded their bodies for more than just rooftop sentries!
Even though the factory roof offered a strategic advantage, staying put wasn't wise. With so many mercenaries on alert, finding a new vantage point to support RFB was essential.
Moreover, the position didn't provide a clear view of the entire area. With city ruins obstructing visibility, Renault was partially concealed behind the factory gate pillar, out of M200's line of fire.
The unscathed mercenary, startled by his comrade's helmet being pierced, hesitated. Instead of rushing out recklessly, he glanced at M200's position and prepared to launch a close-range assault on Renault.
However, before he could pull the trigger, Renault grabbed his gun barrel!
With a swift tug, Renault pulled the mercenary in front of him, and the rifle in the mercenary's hand fired a series of bullets!
Unfortunately, caught off guard, all the bullets hit the factory wall, missing their target. Renault made no dramatic moves, just unfastened the mercenary's helmet buckle and removed it!
"Ah!?" Shocked by the sudden removal of his helmet, the mercenary instinctively let go of his rifle, reaching for his helmet.
This was a heavily polluted area! Prolonged exposure meant becoming infected!
Unaware of the rifle butt descending towards his head...
Crack!
With a crisp sound, the mercenary fell, and Renault who was still leaning against the truck, waved helplessly at M200.
Meanwhile, A-91, hit by the heavy machine gun but still unresponsive, suddenly sat up.
"My vodka!?"
"Eh!?!"
Startled by A-91's sudden movement, MP5, who was cautiously watching the mercenaries, exclaimed, "You! You're not dead!?"
Relieved to see A-91 alive and well, MP5 realized the liquid leaking from the breach in her suit wasn't coolant but vodka she kept inside.
"Darn! These bastards! They thought I was done for, huh!?" A-91's demeanor changed drastically, her drunken state replaced by a crazed look that sent shivers down MP5's spine.
"Hey! A-91! Calm down! What are you doing!?" Seeing A-91 loading high-explosive rounds into the grenade launcher, MP5 hurriedly shouted. Was she going mad again!?
"I'm not doing anything! Since our guns can't deal with these bastards, let's take theirs!" A-91 roared, her eyes glowing red with madness, breaking the output limits of her body!
Before MP5 could say anything else, A-91 charged out from her hiding spot!
Boom!
With increased force, A-91 left a deep crater where she stood, collapsing the cover they used. MP5 narrowly avoided being buried under the rubble!
"What the heck!?" Suddenly rushing out, A-91 appeared as a fleeting khaki shadow to the mercenaries, leaving some wondering if they were seeing things.
Bang!
With uncontrolled force, A-91 crashed into another pile of concrete debris. But she successfully drew all the mercenaries' attention. Seizing the opportunity, RFB emerged from cover and eliminated an exposed mercenary!
Before the mercenaries could react, A-91 burst out of the rubble again, her grenade launcher aimed at the fuel tank of a truck beside the heavy machine gun.
Without any bulletproof measures, the fuel tank was riddled with bullets from A-91's gun barrel. The spilling fuel ignited immediately!
Bang!
Followed by a high-explosive grenade, igniting the leaking fuel. The machine gunner and his assistant had to scramble away. Despite their efforts to avoid it, they got splashed with burning fuel. Once proud, they were now rolling on the ground trying to extinguish the flames.
Regardless of whether the T-Dolls would charge over, extinguishing the flames first was the right move.
If they got shot a few times, they might not necessarily die, considering they wore bulletproof vests under their suits. But if their suits burned, they wouldn't survive the radiation in the heavily polluted area.
"It would've been better to do this earlier, but I must say, she should've swapped the high-explosive rounds for incendiary ones." Seeing A-91's sudden burst of courage, Vector nodded approvingly.
When in doubt, always pave the way with incendiary rounds!
