Chapter 54 - Hunting Bandits

"This is too much, don't you think, young master," as he had thought, the slave trader was shocked by the amount of pills he produced.

It could not help, even the regular pills had reach at least 8-star efficiency. An increase in one star usually mean the efficiency increase by 10 percent. So, 8-star efficiency is 80 percent, which is an incredible amount.

After all, the effect of another one star would usually be about a quarter time better than the previous one, with an increase from 7-star to 8-star would result in double the effect of the pills.

As for the 10-star, or often called as perfect pill due to the perfect 100 in efficiency, such pills are considered to be great treasures, second only to Marked Pill. Marked Pill also differ in efficiency, depending on the type of marking as well as the number of marking.

However, no one knew the reason for why some markings have better efficiency while some have lower, but everyone knew that the efficiency of Marked Pills are greater than 100 percent.

With him giving all the pills he refined except for the Marked Pills, it still a stagerring 61 Grade 2 pills with at least 8-star. The slave trader knew he would gain a lot by selling this, not to mention if he auction it.

"As long as you do your part of the deal, you can take half the earning from auctioning the pills. In fact, you can take the profit for this pill," saving the Marked Pill for last, Ryker put the vial containing the pill inside.

The slave trader peered into it and could not stop himself from gasping loudly.

"Isn't th-" Ryker did not let him finish as he put another vial, "This one would be for me. All the money from this one would belong to me. You can take the other one," the silver-eyed man pat the portly man's shoulder before walking away.

He merely looked at the pills in his possession and gulped, already seeing the vision of him drowning in coins.

After delivering his end of the bargain, Ryker head towards the Adventure Guild, intending to find a mission for him to complete. Though this time, he plan to pick only one mission, not wanting anything to happen to his lovers just when they were about to have their revenge.

He quickly scoured the mission room before stopping, his eyes focusing on one of the mission.

-x-

"Hunt the Illusive Bandit Group," he recite the mission's name once more. The Illusive Bandit Group is not the name the bandit group gave themselves, but the name given to them by the authority.

The reason for it is because the bandits mastered a powerful Concealment Technique, allowing them to remain hidden before launching a devastating attack. No one manage to see any of the bandits during their attack.

Even having a Genesis Condensing expert did not help, as they would not attack a caravan who possess such experts. Because of him being Genesis Formation, he would be an ideal targer, which is why the mission is put at the Genesis Formation mission room, instead of the Genesis Condensing room, despite the mission being B-rank.

So, Ryker is walking alone, on top of Sutal as the horse beast carried two chest of gold, one he requested from the guild with him saying he would give it back. Though, he was surprised when the Guild just told him to keep the gold if he manage to kill the bandits.

Which force him to act, as he want to use the gold to buy the slave.

So, here he was, acting as the perfect bait, or so he hope. For all he knew, they might be smarter and see through the trap.

No sooner when he thought about them, several arrows fired in front of him before several figure emerged from the shadow. As they rise from the shadows, their face seemed to blur, likely the effect of the Concealment Technique.

"Hand over the gold and we will spare your life," Ryker merely snorted as he grabbed his sword. Seeing his reaction, the bandit surround him before they disappear. The silver-eyed man keep a calm eye on the bandits, or he would like to say but how do one defeat invisible enemies.

"I have to get them out," he punched the ground, sending waves of earth and dirt into his surrounding. The attack manage to hit some of the bandits, the group being sent flying.

As they try to recover from the unexpected earthquake, Ryker appear in front of the dazed bandits before his fist turned them into meat paste. Seeing one of their own get killed so fast spoke the bandits as they quickly merged with the shadow, looking like they ran away.

However, Ryker would not be fooled by such tactic. He quickly used his Soul Sense to detect them. While Concealment Technique is a good way to hide from Soul Sense, it could not completely block a Soul Sense, especially from a person with stronger Soul Power.

He could tell their exact location, though hurting them would be slightly more troublesome.

"Maybe this will be enough," he muttered before he merged into the shadow as well. His action seem to surprise the bandits as they quickly exit the shadow, trying to search for their target.

Ryker took the chance while they are still searching for him to manipulate the earth in the area. A single palm strike is enough to get the rocks to grab all the bandits. Once the bandits were trapped, Ryker performed a single slash, one empowered by his qi.

It turn out to be too much for them to handle as the bandits find themselves with no head. After he was done with them, Ryker looked around before he sensed something, though he did not act on it.

"That brat! Is too powerful!" one of the three surviving bandits exclaimed, his heart pounding nonstop.

"Less talking, more running!" one of vice-leader, now the leader due to the rest being killed, called out to first bandit. The final one remained besides their leader, following his every move.

"Boss, what are we going to do inside the base?" the last bandit asked with a frown.

"We will be staying there. There should a be a method to open it. We are going to stay there until we are sure it is safe to come out," the leader decided.

The rest of the bandits nodded, knowing there is no other plan that will work. Unbeknownst to them, they are being followed, as they head towards their base.
