Andrew left, disappointed but more relieved than anything at the refusal of Ryan Gates, otherwise known as the lightning emperor, Zean.
Gabriel, however, didn't. He remained in the office and waited until Andrew was out of the range so he couldn't listen to the upcoming conversation.
"Why is everyone so intent on making him feel like an outcast?" Gabriel asked, dissatisfaction evident in his voice.
"What do you mean?" Zean asked, acting oblivious to the obvious question of Gabriel.
"You didn't listen because you were uninterested. You didn't listen because it was him." Gabriel said.
"Well, of course, I did. You don't expect me to make a monster stronger than he already is, don't you?" Zean blatantly asked.
"He's not a monster," Gabriel said.
"He is. Your father may have given to the fatherly feelings of his but we haven't. We know the truth behind that boy and he shouldn't exist." Zean said.
