Chapter 46
"It is clear at this point that he knew about the test beforehand." A chubby man angrily spoke while he slammed the table with both his hands.
"I also agree with Timothy; it is impossible to plan so far ahead if one doesn't already know of the test beforehand." A skinny man with glasses spoke, agreeing with the chubby man also known as Timothy.
Currently, the meeting room of the professors and the instructors of the Bellator was heated with a discussion about a certain white-haired boy.
Apparently, the boy in question, also known as Adrian, already knew of the test beforehand and planned this far. It also pointed out another fact and that was that another teacher had helped him out.
An elderly man was sitting in the head chair which was also different from other chairs, symbolizing that his status was different from others.
He was none other than the Director and headmaster of the Bellator Academy, Cornelius de Salazar.
Even he was somewhat sure that the boy knew of the test beforehand because of the performance displayed by the boy.
His performance right now and his performance at the entrance test six months ago were worlds apart. So either that boy had encountered the gods themselves during this time to explain this difference or someone had helped him.
"I don't see anything wrong with this." A deep voice spoke next once the opposition had spoken. It belonged to a handsome man with black hair and pale skin but his trademark feature was the bags under his eyes.
However, those bags didn't diminish his charm in the slightest, quite the contrary, many female staff members were charmed by his mean look.
One other noticeable feature was that once he spoke, no one else spoke in opposition. The reason was simple. Strength.
"What do you mean, Sir Desmond?" The chubby man from before asked politely with utmost respect flowing in his voice as if he wasn't the one fuming just a few moments ago.
Desmond Harold, the in charge of the first years spoke, "All of the moves made by him were all logical. In fact, they were perfect and they all made sense."
"We should be angry at those who have ignored such simple but important points."
Desmond wasn't known to take someone's side and he of all people would never side with a noble. Desmond was notorious for his hate for the nobles and how he treated them no differently from commoners.
Everyone in the room knew that Desmond was strictly speaking from the logical side of things. There was no favor or politics involved.
"He stopped the ships before the traps unless he knew of the traps already." A female teacher spoke in argue. It was no ordinary teacher but the second in charge of the first years.
Although she was lower than Desmond in rank, that didn't mean she was afraid of him like all others hence why she was the only one in the whole academy, who could refute, refuse, or go against Desmond in terms of authority.
"That was the optimal spot for the blaze to function." Desmond simply countered as if he wasn't even interested in this argument.
"Then why did he use the oil in water? He knew that orcs would go over to the water." The female teacher once again argued, making a very valid point that all the others had seemed to miss.
"There was nothing wrong with being careful." Desmond couldn't find an argument there. Even he knew that that move was something he would have to have knowledge about.
But still, it wasn't a reason for him to be expelled under the charges that he cheated.
And there was one more fact. Since Desmond knew he would get dragged into this argument the longer it went, he decided to counterattack.
"If that is it, then how do you explain this?" the magical screen changed and the view shifted from the white-haired boy to a black-haired boy with deep brown eyes and handsome features.
The movements made by the boy and the preparations beforehand were a clear indication
"It is clear from this that not only did Eric Tudor have beforehand knowledge of the test but he also brought external factors into the test," Desmond stated the fact that no one in the room could possibly refute.
"It was allowed to bring items in the test, the students were never forbidden from doing so." The earlier female teacher once again made her argument which would have been logical in usual circumstances but not right now.
"The fact that he brought specific items related to the test still stands my argument." And Desmond was quick enough to pick up on that point.
He then continued, "Let us forget for one second that both students had prior knowledge about the test, and a staff member helped them, Adrian used the resources available in the test to pass while Eric had to bring outside resources."
"If we are following rules to the point, then I believe that for this fact, Eric's grade on the test should be dropped from B to C."
It wasn't a suggestion. Desmond was telling everyone that he had already dropped Eric's test grade from B to C. B was the highest anyone had ever been able to obtain before today.
"Then student Adrian's grade should also be dropped from S to A." The female teacher again argued.
"For what reason?" Desmond countered.
"For having prior knowledge." The female teacher argued.
"Have I deducted Eric's grade because of the prior knowledge or his cheating, if we are doing so as well, then Eric's grade would be dropped by one rank also." Desmond made the final argument which left no room for any discussion.
Eric's earlier grade was deducted because he had brought external factors to the test that helped him pass the test. The fact that Eric had prior knowledge of the test was irrelevant.
But if Adrian's grade is also dropped because he knew about the test beforehand, then the same penalty would also have to be applied to Eric resulting in his grade further dropping from C to D which was barely passed.
The female teacher along with everyone else in the meeting room wasn't willing to do that. All said and done, Eric was an apostle and in the future, he would be a hero to humanity.
If his rank in the academy drops by a lot, he would soon be kicked out of the elite class which would end up destroying his future.
The academy couldn't be special to anyone regardless of rank or status so there was nothing that could be done if Eric was to be pushed out of the elite class.
With these points in mind, this issue was dropped and they continued to monitor the test when another baffling information was displayed before them.
"How?" Even Desmond was baffled at what he was seeing. In the magical display, Adrian had discovered the cave where the elven treasure was buried and he went in.
Unfortunately, they couldn't see anything after that point so all they could do was wait.
=====
"Sir, there is an emergency!" Desmond was informed by a staff member when he was reviewing some papers in his office.
"What is it?" Desmond asked but moved nonetheless and started to move along with the staff member who had come to fetch him.
"the artifact has been cleared, Sir!" The staff member replied which left Desmond nonresponsive for a moment before he asked again but received the same reply.
'How is this possible? Who did it?' He wondered but he knew that he would only get all the answers once he got to the control room.
All the teachers were present and some were moving around in panic. Desmond approached the headmaster who was standing on a platform calmly.
"Sir," Desmond announced his presence but refrained from asking questions.
"What do you think?" Cornelius spoke after a few moments of silence.
"I honestly don't know what to make of it, sir." By now, Desmond had also assessed the situation properly and also knew who cleared the artifact.
"Bring them in. See what they have discovered." Cornelius spoke, giving the orders for the next course of action.
"Yes, Sir," Desmond replied and left with a few teachers towards the test room site.
=====
Michelle Swanson was an accomplished girl. She was talented enough to be appointed as a professor at the Bellator Academy at the young age of only twenty-five.
She was strict and stern at the same time. She was just and although she was a noble herself, she never favored another noble or royalty.
But right now, what matters is her strictness. No student, ever before had been able to fool her before in her career of two years.
She was stern enough that students feared her as much as they admired her. However, for the first time, in her teaching career and probably in her life, she had seen such a brave student.
"How did you clear the dungeon?"
Adorable smile and a wink.
"Did you know of the test beforehand?"
Adorable smile and a wink.
"How did you know that the inheritance entrance was there?"
Adorable smile and a wink.
"What did you find in the treasure?"
Adorable smile and a wink.
Michelle was losing patience for the first time in front of a student. Every student would do anything out of fear of her once told yet here he was, this handsome boy whose beauty even made Michelle a little jealous, remaining silent, maintaining a smile at her every question and a wink every time that irritated her to no end.
She was on the verge of losing control when the door to the room opened and Desmond entered. He had just finished questioning Alicia and after finding out that what she was saying was the truth, he had come here just as a formality since both of them were in there together.
Since Alicia's story was true, there was no need to corroborate a story but just as a formality, he was intending to ask Adrian the same questions.
However, when he saw Michelle, a woman who doesn't lose composure even against him, all red-faced like she was fuming, he was impressed before there was anything else.
Michelle, as soon as she noticed Desmond, left with quick steps while softly mumbling, "I can't be here any longer."
Desmond clearly picked up what she said but made nothing of it. Instead, he sat in front of Adrian, intending to ask the same questions from him.
=====
"You too?" Michelle asked when she saw a fuming Desmond, something she had never seen before, enter the meeting room where only she and the director were present.
"The boy sure has the talent to annoy people," Cornelius commented while maintaining a neutral expression. He wanted to know whether the famed book of immortality that the elves so desperately wanted was in the artifact or not but Alicia hadn't come across it from her story.
So whether it wasn't in the artifact, or Adrian has found it but is keeping it for himself. What is strange about this scenario is that both Alicia and Adrian weren't holding anything when they came out of the artifact.
Cornelius wasn't aware of the space ability that Adrian had since he had never seen it.
"What should we do?" Desmond asked after a while. Although everyone was equal at the Bellator Academy, the status of these two children was very unique to disregard that rule so lightly.
"Let them go. We won't get anything like this except for a headache." Cornelius instructed before he added, "Do keep an eye on them though. Especially the boy since we don't know what he found in there."

[Tutorial has now ended]
[The first volume will now begin]
[Good luck]
While I was walking through the corridors of the mention of the Lux family in Bellator City, a set of notifications appeared before me.
Quite frankly, I wasn't worried. I didn't know what the future had in store for me, but what my true aim at attending the academy at all was because of the test at the end of the first year.
[You should get ready then]
I am ready.
