"That was great, darling." I smiled as I said to Laura who came back to the contestant area. She smiled and said, "I hope you're happy."
"Does that mean you're no longer angry with me?" I asked with an expectant smile only to be reciprocated by an even sweeter smile as she said, "Almost."
I knew what 'almost' meant and I braced every part of my body for the oncoming strike. Laura punched me straight in the face and knocked my teeth out. One of my molars was broken. I didn't use any skills to protect myself because if she didn't see blood, she wouldn't forgive me.
"Now I'm no longer angry." She said. I sighed in relief and stood straight, suppressing the pain in my jaw and spitting the blood out, I said, "That's great to hear, darling."
