------------
Kat's face flared up, she knew Lucian could be insensitive, but this was too much even for him. Her eyes glared down at him and her hand instinctively moved to slap him, but Lucian caught her wrist with ease. "It would be a very bad idea to try that again," Lucian warned, squeezing her finger lightly.
"What the heck are you doing? Get your hands off me!" she demanded, feeling both furious and flustered.
Ignoring her protest, Lucian's eyes zeroed in on the crimson trickle on her thigh; the cut wasn't serious but hadn't stopped bleeding. From the moment he had seen her in the corridor, the sweet metallic scent of Kat's blood rafted around him like a thick fug. He leaned closer, his face inches from the wound. He breathed in deeply, savoring the heady fragrance of her blood.
While with every passing second Kat's discomfort only grow, barely able to stop her face from exploding with embarrassment. A man was really crouched right between her legs, his face so intimately lingering were it shouldn't. In all her life she had never been in such a position with anyone. If anyone were to see them like this, she wouldn't know how to clarify this scene.
Kat's skin tingled as Lucian's breath danced across her thigh. The warmth of his exhale sent shivers down her spine. Her pulse quickened, her heart pounding loudly in her chest.
"Do you realize how inappropriate what you are doing is right now?, Do you behave like this with any woman?" It made Kat more irritated, that Lucain wasn't responding to her, his actions came so casually, it made Kat wonder if Lucain was like this with other women, she knew almost any woman would through themselves in his arms in the slightest chance. It shouldn't concern her, yet she wasn't sure why, the thought of it displeased her.
Or could he be truly oblivious to the intimacy of their position, and was simply very rude and lacked moral boundaries. Kat's mind was going fuzzy, time seemed to be slowing down, and every touch on her skin felt heighten.
Kat tried to pull away, but her right hand was still in Lucian's firm grip, in this position, Kat was unable to use her left hand, she kept it on the bed, using it to support her weight, to prevent her from tumbling backward.
For the third time, Kat tried to pull her hand away from Lucian's grip, but only caused him to intertwined his fingers with hers as he held her leg up.
Kat grumbled, still attempting to pull away from him, but his hold remained firm. She couldn't use her left hand to push him away without risking to loose her balance.
Trapped, Kats eyes locked onto Lucian's, she felt frustrated and vulnerable, with her leg, still suspended in mid-air, she couldn't even cover between her legs anymore and hoped Lucian's eyes wouldn't wonder around.
Kat's body suddenly tensed, when she felt Lucian's cursed tongue trail the blood on her skin, from the calf of her leg to her thigh. She gasped when it reached her inner thigh; she felt her innocence being ripped away by this devil.
"Stop... This wasn't... This wasn't what I meant," she protested, her breath hitching with every word. Lucian's touch was gentle, yet unyielding. His fingers wrapped around her ankle, holding her in place, not letting her pull away.
"Lu... Lucain," Kat desperately called out with a shaky breath; her mind felt like it could split in two. how did she end up like this? This is beyond what she could take.
Kat body suddenly felt weaker than it was a moment ago, her body quivered along with every lick from Lucian's cursed tongue, if she stood, her knees would have given out by now. She barely had any strength left to protest or pull away from Lucian's burning touch.
The metallic scent of blood, mingled with the sweet hint of her perfume. Along with the rosewood scent from Lucain, wafted through the air, teasing her senses.
Lucain let out a satisfied hum, his tongue gentle on her skin, taking his sweet time cleaning off every bit of blood. Kat's foggy mind hoped Lucain would notice the torture he was putting her through; she already had goosebumps all over her skin. She could no longer hold back her gasps; a soft moan followed, and Kat bit her lips hard to hold back the next one, She was starting to feel breathless, her chest heaving for air,.
At the sound of her moan, Lucain froze for a moment but she couldn't see his face nor did he look up at her, not giving her time to catch her breath, he continued his Vail actions.
Kat felt his tongue on the spot she injured, sending a sharp mix of pain and pleasure through her. She didn't know whether to wince or gasp, Lucain placed her leg on his shoulder, his hand now gripping her thigh firmly. Kat felt like she was going to pass out from this.
Lucian's hand held her thigh, his hand dipping into her soft skin, her skin felt silky and smooth under his touch, promoting him to trail his fingers around and feel the softness of her skin even more.
Finally he pulled his head away. His steady gaze meeting Kat's now distorted ones, as she heaved for air, Kat's dress, torn and disheveled, exposed her vulnerable flesh to Lucian's gaze. Lucians grin widened and his tongue picked out of the corner, running over his bottom lips, he gave her time to breathe not once leaving her gaze.
Against Kat's will, the feeling of pleasure clouded her vision, as she tried to catch her breath, with what little strength she had left, her eyes glared down at Lucain, but her glare lacked it usually intensity.
Lucian's eyes scanned Kat's expression, and he chuckled softly. before Kat could speak, her words caught in her throat replaced by a gasp as Lucan's sank his fangs into her thigh. Her face twitched with faint pain, and her fingers curled around the bedsheet, her knuckles tense with strain, she felt her last bit of resolve melt away, like wax in a furnace. was Lucian teasing? She wondered amongst her chaotic thoughts.
The candlelight casted shadows on the walls. The only sound in the room come from the crackle of the fire and Kat's rigid breath in-between Lucians steady breathing.
Unable to take any more of Lucians torture, Kat pleaded "Lucain! Enough ple..ase." Her voice was low and desperate, but her pleas fell on deaf ears.
As she spoke, Lucain hummed, a husky, approving sound. He had his eyes closed, as if he savored her desperation.
"Enough, please," she repeated, her voice shaking.
Kat's thoughts were in chaos. She struggled to discern Lucian's motivations, Was it hunger or something more? She hated how her body responded to his touch, despite her mind's protests, her skin flushing and her body quivered, from Lucian's touch.
His actions often made her feel lost, she could never tell what his motives were, not even now, he changes personas as fast as a chameleon changes its colors. He could be indifferent and cold one moment, malicious and teasing the next. His bloodthirsty, heartless streak made her tremble, yet he could also be unexpectedly helpful. Each passing day made it harder to keep up with his shifting personas. Which side of him was the true Lucain? Kat wondered.
Lucian's tongue caressed the bite mark, sending goosebumps across Kat's arms. Exhaustion consumed her, her breathing slowing into a steady rhythm as her body surrendered to fatigue. Lucian's grip was the only thing keeping her upright, preventing her from collapsing onto the bed.
Everything blurred in an instant, but not before she caught a glimpse of Lucian's piercing dark gray eyes. Then, darkness claimed her.
Lucian lifted Kat, and laid her on the bed, he sat beside her, his gaze lingering on Kat's peaceful face, he chuckled and muttered" a wildfire in delicate glass".
He picked up the small wodden box and retrieved a bandage, intending to dress Kat's wound. However, he wrapped the bandage back up and set the box aside. His eyes locked onto Kat's injured thigh as he placed his hand on it. A black mist seeped from his fingers, slowly enveloping the wound.
The gash began to close, the skin knitting together until it was seamless. Lucian's gaze remained fixed on Kat, the grin on his face had settled replace by a blank expression. Under his breath, he murmured, "what exactly are you Katherine?, Lucain voice was low and husks.
Raising from her side, he gently adjusted Kat's limp form, ensuring she lay comfortably on the bed, his eyes flicked toward the window.
He walked over to the window, pulling the curtains open. His eyes narrowed once more. Staring into the dark of the thick forest beyond the castle gate.
His eyes darted back to the gates where, three creatures clustered at the castle gate, attempting to breach the invisible barrier. One was another same as the one Which attacked Kat, while the other two were different, but equally twisted, terrifying beings.
Two more creature emerged from the forest, all driven by one desire, to devour Kat. Lucain still wasn't sure why her soul attracted such creature. She couldn't simply be human, with the type of energy that flowed from her very being, not to talk of what he saw her do today.
Whatever she was, her power keeps growing every passing day, and it would only be a matter of time till she attracts something worse. She was becoming a danger to herself. The thought of it made his brow's knot.
Sabastian along with another two creatures emerged from the woods, as he decapitated the creatures with effortless precision. The moon cast an ethereal glow, illuminating the sharp tip of his scythe as it glinted in the flickering light.
Sabastian's movements were calm and unhurried, as he swept his scythe through the first creature, its body bursting into dust. The remaining five, drawn by the commotion, charged toward him with snarls and snapping jaws.
Sabastian's face held it's usual subtle smile, his scythe slicing through there grotesque form. Each creature fell with a soft poof, their forms disintegrating into nothingness.
As the last creature dissipated, Sebastian stood tall, his chest barely rising with exertion. His eyes gleamed with a silent intensity, his gaze locking onto Lucian's figure at the castle window.
In an instant, Sebastian vanished and reappeared behind Lucian. Lucian's gaze remained on the window, before turning his gaze to Sabastian.
"My Lord," Sebastian bowed before standing upright.
"Did you find what brought down the barrier?" Lucian asked.
"No," Sebastian replied thoughtfully. "The castle's barrier is extremely strong. Only a whole coven of witches could bring it down from the outside."
Sabastian continued, "Or, the other theory is, they are on the inside. Nevertheless whom ever it was could only bring it down for a few seconds, enough for the creature to slip through."
Sebastian's expression turned apologetic. "My apologies for not noticing its presence earlier, my lord."
Lucain hummed his gaze moving back to kat. " That thing was particularly clever, it must have been hiding in the castle for at least a week or two,"
Lucian continued. "It noticed Katherine's energy growing daily, rapidly expanding. It was bidding it's time like a farmer fattening a pig for slaughter. And just when it sensed more creatures coming for it's prey, it tried to close it's competition."
"Do we have any suspects so far?" Lucain asked
"I've found no suspicious characters, but I'll investigate the castle staff," Sebastian said. "If it's a servant, they shouldn't be able to hide for long, unless they're exceptionally skilled. However, it's still unclear if their intention is to harm Miss Kat or if there's another motive."
"The puzzle will start to come together once we discover what she is," Lucian added. "Prepare a carriage for tomorrow. Let's find the first piece of the puzzle"
"Yes, my Lord," Sebastian bowed, his gaze moving to Kat sleeping on the bed. "I assume your room is indisposed at the moment? I will prepare another room for you."
Lucian declined, his tone indifferent. "That won't be necessary. I'll stay here for the night."
Sebastian's lips curled into a subtle smile. "I doubt Miss Kat would approve of that arrangement." he commented.
"I will send someone to attend to Miss Kat,"
Lucian nodded.
Sebastian bowed and informed. "I will take my leave now, my Lord."
Moments after Sebastian's exit, a knock came from the door, and Mary entered. She carried a bowl of warm water and a clean cloth, she was dressed in a Night gown, despite it being this late into the night, when the everyone should be in bed, she looked as though she had been awaiting orders, her eyes were sharp and active. Verifying the fact that she wasn't the head maid for no reason.
She bowed deeply to Lucian, and went to Kat's side. She gently used the damp cloth to clean Kat's body.
Lucain stood silently observing. While Mary continued her task.
When Mary finished cleaning Kat, she didn't hesitate to start to undress her, despite the king's presence. Unconcerned with protecting Kat's modesty.
Lucian watched, unmoved, his gaze revealing nothing. He had seen the bare skin of countless women; it was nothing new.
Yet, the image of Kat's judgmental face flickered in his mind. He sighed, and abruptly rose from his seat, exiting to the balcony.
Mary's hands paused, her eyes widening in surprise. Was the king actually considerate of this woman? She wondered, a frown etching her face.
Her demeanor slightly shifted, and her shoulder stiffened slightly, when she was done she bowed silently in Lucian's direction, and stepped out, just as she stepped out of the room her calm expression was replaced with one of displeasure.

The next morning, Kat's fingers tightened around something firm, her grip instinctive. She was still lost in slumber, her grip tightened and she pulled it closer.
Slowly, her eyes fluttered open. She blinked, focusing on the world around her. It took a moment for her to register what she was seeing.
Her gaze fell upon Lucian's sleeping face, mere inches from hers. His features were relaxed, his eyelids closed. Kat's gasp caught in her throat.
She was holding him, her arms wrapped around his torso, he was shirtless. And to her surprise, his hands were wrapped around her waist, holding her close.
Kat's brown eyes went wide with shock, memories of the previous night flooding back. She couldn't believe she was clinging to Lucian like a koala.
Her face flushed with embarrassment, and she wanted to push him off. But she realized she had never seen Lucian sleep before. She didn't even think he was capable of venerability.
But now, his steady breathing and peaceful expression made him seem somewhat... human.
Kat's gaze roamed his face, taking in the sharp jawline, the subtle curve of his nose, and the soft, parted lips. She couldn't deny he was outwardly handsome, even in sleep. He looked like an image straight out of a book; one could only dream of reading about.
It was a whole new feeling for Kat, experiencing this vulnerable side of Lucian, she watched, intrigued, as his chest rose and fell. The gentle rhythm of his breathing was almost hypnotizing, 'was he able to sleep cause he drank my blood last night?' she wondered....
