'This is getting bad…'
Doron thought as he sensed the few strange demonic humans who all attacked him simultaneously.
Shing— Shing— Clank!!!
He was still able to dodge and block the attacks despite having no eyes to rely on.
'I can't stop the bleeding on my eyes… what the hell is this!?' Doron cursed in his mind as he tried his best to heal his eyes using aura.
He was fighting the demonic humans while trying to expel the demonic power in his eyes.
Aura originated from one's life force, so the professionals who pursue the path of aura could utilize it in order to accelerate the healing process of their injuries.
However, the relentless attacks of the demonic humans proved to be too much even for him.
Shikkkk—
"Arghhh!!!"
A pained groan came out of his mouth as one of the demonic humans leapt up and ambushed him.
'Shit. I don't have any problems sensing the ones standing on the ground with my aura art, but those who leap in the air on the other hand…'
Other than his years of fighting experience, the thing that let him keep up despite having no sight was his aura art.
A special aura art of the earth element.
[Seismic Sense]
Professionals in the path of aura, if lucky, would be able to awaken an element.
This would enable their auras to have the properties of said element, making them more powerful and attuned to elemental aura arts.
It was what Doron had been relying on up to this moment.
However, the fatigue and countless injuries that he had suffered in the past few minutes were starting to catch up to him.
'Just how could these demonic humans use pure demonic power!?'
It was another thing that bothered Doron.
The countless demonic humans that he had fought in the past only had their mana or aura tainted by demonic power.
He had only seen pure demonic power when fighting Lower Demons at the Starless Realm.
Huff— Huff!!!
Doron breathed heavily as he continuously fended off the demonic humans.
It could be seen that despite his dire situation, not an ounce of fear could be seen on his expression.
Instead, his face burned as he blushed in embarrassment.
"Haaaa… I even tried to sound cool earlier. I hope that she will be able to survive without me. May the Goddess of Light and Virtue bless Dahl—"
Shuikkkkk— Shuikkkkk— Woosh!!!
Doron sensed it.
Something so outrageous that he became speechless.
The demonic humans that made him suffer.
The demonic humans that injured his eyes.
The demonic humans who made him accept his death.
The same demonic humans who kept rising up despite his fatal attacks.
They were now quiet.
He senses the bodies on the ground that showed no signs of resurrection.
However, it wasn't what made Doron speechless, but the one responsible for killing the demonic humans.
In his senses, he could vividly perceive a figure who was standing right in front of him.
It was the most corrupt and yet the purest demonic power that he had seen in his entire life.
'What is with this monster…'
Regis, on the other hand, observed Doron.
He could see that the latter was able to "see" where he was despite both of his eyes bleeding.
"Hel—"
Swoosh— Clank!!!!
Before Regis could speak, the man instantly attacked him.
'Such power…!'
Regis thought as he looked at his trembling hands, making it harder to even hold the twin daggers properly.
'One more time.' Doron could clearly feel that he was much stronger than the figure in terms of energy quantity.
After all, Regis had barely blocked his strike.
Swoosh— Tun!!!
"What!?"
Doron was flabbergasted.
The sensation he felt was not just his opponent "blocking" his attack.
'He parried it…'
Doron clearly felt how his war axe was smoothly redirected by the figure's weapons.
Regis stared at him vigilantly.
"Wai—"
Swoosh— Wung— Shuikkk!!!
Tap Tap
Taking two steps back, Doron touched his right cheek, feeling a burning sensation on it.
'He countered it.'
He was speechless.
'Three exchanges…'
All it took was three exchanges in order for his opponent to go from barely blocking his attacks, parrying, and ultimately, countering it.
Doron couldn't fathom just how his opponent was able to see through his axe techniques.
On the other hand, Regis's lips twitched as his hands trembled more.
'Shit he's strong! If not for my gift…'
He thought as he stared at the man.
Regis could tell that the man was vastly more experienced than him.
If not for his Perfect Adaptation, which allowed him to adapt to any and every technique that the man has, he would have been in trouble.
'No, I doubt that I will be able to block him in the first place…'
"Hey! Can you stop attacking me?"
Regis shouted.
Hearing his voice, Doron froze, "A human?"
"Yes!"
"But how… What are you doing?"
Doron took a step back as he sensed Regis approaching.
"Ugh… you just attacked your savior not once, not twice, but thrice!! How can a man of your age be so ungrateful?"
Regis shouted, his frustration apparent.
Doron flinched and pursed his lips, he knew that with the ability the figure has shown, he wouldn't have any problems defeating him.
Thus, he chose to stay still as the figure placed his hands over his eyes.
[Corruption Manipulation]
Regis chanted in his mind.
He figured that the other demonic children were able to penetrate the man's eyes with demonic power.
Therefore, he used his evil craft in order to expel it.
"This is all I can do for you. You will need to heal your eyes yourself. Anyways, I still have things to do." Regis told the man as he left.
Doron's eyes started to rapidly heal with the aid of his earth elemental aura, "Wait! At least tell me your name!"
It didn't take long before he was able to open his eyes, albeit slightly.
All he saw was a blur.
However, as the figure turned around towards him, his blurry features made Doron's eyes widen.
It was blurry, but it was enough for him to tell the color of the figure's hair and eyes.
His hair was as white as snow.
His eyes were the color of blood.
His small stature and childish features were testaments of his young age.
Doron was once again speechless.
The figure turned towards him as he smiled.
"It's been a while since I've introduced myself, but… Regis."
"My name is Regis."
