"Is that your first time seeing her since we came back to the city?" Daphne asked Kian and he nodded. He had been nodding a lot since he saw his mate. Daphne could tell that he wasn't ready to see her but he did. Daphne didn't want to let herself think about when Kian would feel ready to see his mate, perhaps when he was looking his best and properly dressed in a way that could entice a rich girl like Tessa. "Did she see you after she came out of the car?" Daphne asked again and felt like she had asked him the wrong question because Kian was being quiet. "I'm sure that she didn't see you. Her mind must have been focused on shopping." Daphne was saying more than she intended, she was trying to comfort Kian from his dark mood.
"Tessa owns that clothing store," Kian said. His voice was as blank as the expression on his face, Daphne couldn't tell what he was thinking. "The store was given to her by Alpha Dominic after their wedding."
