Daphne
"Tony. I need you to go and gather the ones you know are only loyal to my father. I wouldn't run away, for the first time in my life. I will do something I know my father approved of."
"Yes, ma." Tony left the room.
Daphne wipes away the tears from her eyes. This wasn't the time to cry. She was going to let herself cry after she had shot Noah straight in the heart the same way he had killed her Dad.
Tucker, Daphne's father had always had cruel ways, he believes in vengeance. Daphne had seen the horrible way he deals with traitors and now she was going to do the same.
"Miss Daphne, you can't do this." Nanny Elina tried removing the gun in Daphne's hand, she was about to hide the cold metal in her wedding dress. "I know you think that this is what your father would want, but I know your Dad wants you to care more for your life. Noah is too dangerous, there has to be another way to take him down without alerting his gangs that we were the ones who did it. If not it's going to start a war."
"A war was started when he killed my father." Daphne held back the tears that were about to pour out of her eyes again. She couldn't argue with Elina about what her father would have wanted. She knew that Elina was close to her father. Elina was her father's secret lover amongst other women, Daphne knew that her Dad trusted Elina more. Even though they both didn't know that she was aware of their secret relationship. "If I show the gangs all the evidence, I'm sure that they will be willing to go to war so that they can also get their revenge on Noah for killing my father."
Nanny Elina gave Daphne a pitiful look. She wonder if Daphne knew the truth or was pretending not to know. Tucker was gone, and Elina was going to protect Daphne, even if that meant sacrificing her life. "Don't be naive Daphne. If every man in the world could be loyal then your father won't have any reason to punish traitors. Some of the men in your father's gang you think are family are not family. They won't risk their life for revenge. Yes, I agree that our men respect you, but that's only because of your father. I don't think they can respect you as a leader." Elina wanted her words to break Daphne so that she could get rid of the foolish idea of revenge.
"You are wrong Elina," Tony said. He came back with 10 other men in the gang. "There are some of us who don't mind giving our lives to the boss's daughter. We are not dogs who forget our Master and bite the hand that feeds us. What do you want us to do Daphne?"
Daphne wasn't sad about the few numbers of men who were willing to fight with her. She trusts the ones Tony was sure could never be bought by Noah. Daphne smiled at them. "Let's go, I'm sure he's waiting." She was going to make today the last day Noah lived. Daphne took her gun from Elina's hand and hid it in her dress, although her father taught her how to use a gun, she had never in her life killed a person before. She had only killed animals.
To Daphne, Noah was an animal, he wasn't human. She should be able to kill him. Yet, with the perfect chance, Daphne couldn't pull the trigger. Her gun was placed in Noah's heart but her arms were shaking badly. Noah couldn't defend himself when Daphne unexpectedly took a gun when they were saying their wedding vow. At first, he was afraid but after seeing the state Daphne was in, his fears calmed down even though he was still feeling uneasy with the gun that was placed on his chest.
'shoot.' Daphne thought. But her hand still couldn't pull the trigger. If killing someone was this hard, then how was everyone around her able to do it as though taking the life of a person was no different from an animal?
Daphne knew that if she lost the perfect opportunity now to get rid of Noah. She was never going to get one like this again. She felt regret for all the people she had dragged into her mess. They were wrong to trust her. Nanny Elina was right, she should have run away.
Noah gave out a dark smirk, "If you didn't want to marry me, you should have said so, I didn't force you into this. There's no need for you to take this too far. But don't worry, I will forgive you because of the relationship I shared with your father. Put the gun down, Daphne." He warns.
"How dare you talk about my father. You killed him and now you are shamelessly lying that you shared a relationship with him. Tell me the truth, my father's last wish, was it that I got married to you or did you make that up."
Noah had a dead look in his eyes. "I had expected something like this to happen but not from you, Daphne. I prepared my men in case one of your gangs has planned on crashing my wedding. I don't know how you know that I killed your Dad but things would have been better for you if you didn't know the truth. Your father's last wish was probably that I stayed away from you. To think that a rotten man like him was blessed with a daughter who's as clean as a dove. I would have loved to marry a woman like you, who knows maybe then I could sleep peacefully at night knowing that my wife wouldn't be unable to harm me even if I did something terrible to her."
Daphne couldn't hold her tears anymore as Noah insulted her, she wished she was like her father, that way she could be the woman her father wanted her to be. Someone strong. The moment Daphne's tears came and blurred her vision, Noah stole the gun from her hand and pointed it at her.
"Most men in our line of work probably won't like a soft, easy woman like you. I have always liked this innocence of yours, you make me feel like I have meant a real angel whenever I see you, even now. You should have peacefully gone ahead with the wedding, I was going to join the gangs together, get what I want, and make sure you continue to enjoy your princess lifestyle. It is the last thing I could do for your father because of all he was able to give me even after his death. You are like a rare treasure I have always wanted since the day I first saw you." Noah loosened his tie and watched Daphne with predatory eyes as she shifted away from him in fear, even though she was weak, she still didn't beg for her life. Her action only brought out a wicked smile from him. "I never planned to kill you or hurt you, but I want you to know that you started all this."
Before Noah could shoot Daphne in the leg so that she wouldn't run away from him, nanny Elina fired a gun at him. Noah escaped the gunshot.
"The plan failed, we need to get out of here," Elina said as she Managed to get Daphne to her side. Daphne couldn't reply she was still shaking. As Elina was about to follow Daphne out of the wedding hall. A gunshot from Noah pierced her back.
"Elina," Daphne called with a weak voice.
"Go," Elina said. Another shot pierced her again as she tried standing upright. Elina fell to the floor. The rose flowers that were scattered on the floor to decorate the hall mixed with her blood. "Please Daphne, run away. I'm fine. Please run, don't look back. I will be right behind you, I'm just going to be a little bit late. It wouldn't be the first time, so please go!"
Daphne obeyed Elina's pleading voice and escaped the hall as bullets flew around in the air. Some of the men who came with Tony guarded her but they didn't follow her as she ran away in tears.
