Le Yunhe and Xia Pingzi, the two were from the same hometown when they were young, and grew up to be classmates, so they became good friends with similar sentiments. Xia Pingzi was very smart since childhood, and at the age of ten, he was already very famous for his writing. Le Yunhe modest to him, he also patiently help, Le Yunhe composition of the talent is day by day progress. So both of them became famous together. However, both of them were disappointed in the examination, and failed in every examination. Soon after, Xia Pingzi caught the plague and died. His family was poor and could not afford to bury him, so Le Yunhe volunteered to bury him with all his strength. When Xia Pingzi left his wife and a young child, Le Yunhe helped them on time; for every liter and half a bucket of grain he got, he would give half of it to Xia's family; Xia Pingzi's wife and child were thus able to survive. Therefore, all the scholars and writers praised Le Yunhe.
Le Yunhe originally has a small fortune, and for Xia Pingzi to take care of his wife and children, the family is getting poorer and poorer every day. He then sighed and said: "Like Xia Pingzi full of talent, but still do nothing to die, let alone me! Life in the world, wealth and prosperity must be obtained in time, all year round worry about food and clothing, I am afraid to die of exhaustion, not as good as the dog and horse can live to old age without worry, this life will be in vain, it would be better to find another way out before it's too late." So he stopped studying and switched to trading. After half a year of operation, the family was a little rich.
One day, Le Yunhe went to Jinling and stayed in an inn. He saw a man with a long, sinewy body, hovering by the table, with a bleak, sad face. Le Yunhe asked him, "Do you want to eat?" The man did not answer either. Le Yunhe pushed the rice to him to eat; he then ate it with his cupped hands, and in a moment he had eaten it all. Le Yunhe gave him more rice, enough for two people, and he ate it all again. Le Yunhe then asked the shopkeeper to cut a cooked pig's elbow, served a pile of steamed cakes, and he ate all the rice for several people. Only then was he full, and thanked Le Yunhe, saying, "For three years I have never eaten as full as I am today." Le Yunhe asked him, "You were a strong man, why are you so downcast?" He said, "I have been chastised by Heaven for my sins, so I really cannot tell." When asked where he lived, he said, "I don't have a house on land or a boat on water, but I just drift between town and country all day long." Le Yunhe packed up and was about to depart, the man followed, as if reluctant to leave. Le Yunhe said goodbye to him. He told Le Yunhe, "You have a great misfortune ahead of you, and I can't bear to forget the kindness of this meal." Le Yunhe was amazed and went with him. On the way Le Yunhe again drew him to dine with him. He excused himself and said, "I eat but a few meals a year." Le Yunhe was even more amazed.
The next day, crossing the river, suddenly the wind and waves, all the merchant ships were overturned, Le Yunhe and the man were drowned in the river. After a while, the wind stopped, the man on his back Le Yunhe stepped out on the waves, boarded a passenger boat, and then alone on the waves; a while, pull a boat, Le Yunhe into the cabin, told Le Yunhe lying down and waiting, he jumped into the river, with two arms holding the goods out of the water, and threw it into the boat; and then jumped down again. This several in and several out, fishing out the goods to the boat are piled up. Le Yunhe said gratefully, "You saved my life, I'm already very satisfied, how dare you expect the lost property back!" Check the goods overboard, none of them were lost. Le Yunhe was even more happy, his heart was amazed, thinking he was a man of God. Just about to start the boat, the man wanted to say goodbye, Le Yunhe bitterly retained, he went with the boat. Le Yunhe smiled and said, "This is a disaster, I just lost a gold hairpin." The man wanted to enter the water again to look for it. Le Yunhe was about to discourage him, but he had already jumped into the water and disappeared. Le Yunhe froze for a long time. Suddenly, he saw him surfacing with a smile and handed the golden hairpin to Le Yunhe, saying, "Fortunately, I have not failed you in your mission." When the people on the river saw this, there wasn't a single person who wasn't amazed.
Le Yunhe and the man returned home and got up and lived together. The man ate only one meal every ten days, and each time the amount of food was very large. One day, he was about to leave again, and Le Yunhe tried his best to stay. It happened that the sky was cloudy and about to rain, and thunder rumbled. Le Yunhe said, "I don't know what it looks like in the clouds. And what is thunder? Only by going to the sky to see, this question can be solved." The man smiled and said, "Do you want to visit the clouds?" After a while, Le Yunhe felt very tired, so lie down on the bed and doze off. When he woke up, he felt that his body was floating and shaking, not like in bed; when he opened his eyes, he realized that he was in the middle of the clouds, and his body was like a mass of cotton wool. He stood up in surprise and felt as if he were seasick. When he stepped on it with his feet, it was so soft and unqualified. Looking up at the sky full of stars, right in front of him. He suspected that he was in a dream. The stars were set in the sky like ripe lotus seeds in a lotus seed, the big ones like urns, the medium ones like altars, and the smallest ones like pots and pans. Shaking them with his hand, the large ones did not move; the small ones were shaken by him, and seemed ready to be plucked. So he plucked one and hid it in his sleeve. Pushing aside the clouds to look down, only to see a sea of silver pale, the ground of the citadel as big as a bean grain. Le Yunhe ate a shock, thought: if a slip and fall, my body where to find it. A moment later, saw two free stretch of the dragon, pulling a curtained car to the front. The dragon's tails were flung out like the sound of a cattle prod. The car carried a number of containers, each several feet thick, filled with water. There were dozens of men, scooping up the water with ladles and pouring it into the clouds. They suddenly saw Le Yunhe, and they all wondered. Le Yunhe took a closer look, and the strong man he had befriended was in there, and the strong man said to the crowd, "This is my friend." He said to the crowd, "This is my friend." Then he brought a ladle and handed it to Le Yunhe to sprinkle water. At that time there was a great drought, Le Yunhe took the water ladle, pushed away the clouds, toward the direction of about the hometown, splashing water. After splashing for a while, the strong man said to Le Yunhe, "I was originally the God of Thunder in the sky, but I was relegated to the earth for three years because I had mistakenly practiced rain; now that the period of the heavenly chastisement has expired, let us say goodbye from now on." After saying this, he threw the 10,000-foot long rope he was driving in front of Le Yunhe, telling him to grab the end of the rope and fall down. Le Yunhe thought this was too dangerous. Thunder God smiled and said, "Never mind." Le Yunhe according to what the God of Thunder said, grabbed the rope and slipped downward, soughing, in the blink of an eye to the ground. At a glance, he landed right outside his hometown village. The long rope slowly closed into the clouds, out of sight. At that time, there had been a long drought, ten miles away, only a finger deep rain, only Le Yunhe's village, under the ditch full of flat.
Le Yunhe returned home and touched his sleeve, the star he had picked was still there. Take it out and put it on the table, like a greenish-black stone; at night, the light shines brightly, illuminating the room. So more like a treasure, wrapped layer after layer, treasured. Whenever there is a guest, it will be taken out to drink wine in the light. If you look at it with your eyes, the light will hurt your eyes.
One night, Le Yunhe's wife sat down to comb her hair in the face of the stars, and suddenly saw the stars gradually become as small as fireflies, flying all over the house. She was marveling at the stars, which had already flown into her mouth, and could not spit them out, but actually swallowed them into her stomach. She was surprised and ran to tell Le Yunhe, who also felt very strange. After going to sleep, Le Yunhe dreamed that Xia Pingzi came to him and said, "I am the Shaowei star in the sky. I will never forget your kindness to me. And I am grateful to you for bringing me back from heaven to earth, so it can be said that there is a destiny. Now I come to be your son to repay your great kindness." Le Yunhe, who was thirty years old and had no son yet, was very happy to get this dream. From that night on, his wife became pregnant; and when she gave birth, the room was filled with bright light, just as when the stars were placed on the table, so he named the child "Star". Xing'er was very smart and clever, and at the age of sixteen, he passed the examination for a scholar.
