Chapter 7 - The charms of Asher melting hearts

He changed into his formal attire, donning a tailored suit that accentuated his broad shoulders and lean physique. We walked out of his suite, and he clicked a hidden button that transformed the room back into an empty space. The doors closed behind us, and we made our way to the third-floor dining room for lunch. "As customary, Asher occupied the head seat, a position befitting the young master of the house. With a graceful gesture, he pulled out my chair, and I settled into it as he took his place beside me. The servants moved about silently, attending to their duties. "Would you care for some wine in the early afternoon?" Asher inquired. "If it pleases you, then it suits me just fine," I replied. "Wine, please," Asher requested of a young servant, who promptly filled our glasses. As conversation flowed, punctuated by Asher's witty remarks, laughter filled the room. Despite his enigmatic charm, I knew all too well the depths of cruelty lurking beneath his façade, should one dare to cross him. "Many insist that we would make an impeccable couple," I mused inwardly, though such sentiments remained unreciprocated on my part. Yet, Asher remained a steadfast presence during my darkest hours, a loyalty I could not bring myself to dismiss. Our luncheon concluded, Asher rose from his seat, and I followed suit, though my mind wandered elsewhere. "Sweetheart, is something amiss?" he inquired, concern evident in his voice. "No, I'm fine," I reassured him, though the weight of unspoken thoughts lingered heavily upon me. "Well, I have a surprise in store for you," he announced with a mischievous glint in his eye. "A surprise for me?" I echoed, genuine surprise colouring my tone. "Yes, come along," Asher urged, leading me eagerly to the elevator. The anticipation of what lay ahead mingled with the comforting familiarity of his scent as we ascended to the top floor. Exiting the elevator, I found myself enveloped in a scene of enchanting beauty. Everywhere I looked, the space had been transformed into a spectacle of grandeur. The pool's retractable roof revealed a starlit sky overhead, while an array of decorations adorned the surroundings. "What's happening tonight?" I inquired, marvelling at the unexpected splendour. "Tonight marks the eclipse," Asher revealed, his excitement contagious. "Truly?" I gasped in delight, unable to contain my joy as I embraced him tightly. "And all of this is for you," he confessed, a hint of vulnerability seeping into his words. "No, Asher..." I began, a pang of guilt tugging at my heart. "...you've outdone yourself."
