"A happy home? I can't give you that, but you are saved as long as you are with me," Sebastian pronounced.
"I'm not in any danger. I don't need a knight in shining armor!" Avery yelled.
"You can't have me for yourself, and I'm not your thing. I'm a human with flesh and blood," she added.
"And that is what makes you unique. That flesh and blood are the reason why you are still alive and breathing in front of me." Sebastian spoke slowly, dragging the words.
Avery was lost in thought about what he meant when he said he couldn't refuse her.
However, Sebastian has already closed the distance between them.
He held her chin, making her head tilt up to look him straight in the eye. His voice broke through her daze.
"And there is another thing about you that I can't seem to figure out. This is hell on Earth, Avery." Sebastian continues, surprising Avery.
