"To what do I owe this pleasant surprise?" Sebastian asked, sitting casually on the plush chair with his legs crossed.
Avery walked in silently while she looked at the man before her. He wasn't surprised one bit to see her, and Avery could see that.
Sebastian's gaze was locked with hers, and she was compelled by his dark eyes. She couldn't avert her gaze as she stared at Sebastian straight in the eyes.
All thoughts were flushed away. She had rehearsed what she was going to say, but now she couldn't even think of anything straight, and her brain had failed her.
"I came to see you," Avery said with her calm, soothing voice, and Sebastian saw no reason why he should send her out when she came here voluntarily.
"Then sit, if you come to see me," Sebastian said lazily. His eyes filled with mirth as he drank in Avery's appearance.
