Chapter 15 - Confronting The Truth

"Mom, Dad!" Ruby exclaimed, rushing into the living room, her eyes shining with relief when she saw them.

"Ruby!" Her mother enveloped her in a tight hug, holding her close as if to shield her from the chaos outside.

"Is Silver okay?" Mr. Miller asked, his voice laced with concern, glancing anxiously at Charlie.

"Yes, but for now, please stay here and don't talk to anyone," Charlie replied seriously.

"How can we contact you? You took our phones," Mr. Miller said, frustration creeping into his voice.

"It's for safety reasons, sir. Don't worry; I will protect Silver because she means everything to me," Charlie said, his eyes earnest and firm, showing the depth of his feelings.

"We know, dear; we can see how much you care," Mrs. Miller reassured him, her voice softening, a hint of gratitude in her gaze.

"Silver's plan is dangerous. She wants to confront that bastard Jayden," Mr. Miller said, shaking his head, worry etched across his face.

"Don't worry, sir. She'll be okay. If you need anything, just ask my team. Half of them are outside watching over the place. I'm heading to your house now," Charlie said before leaving.

As the door clicked shut, a heavy silence filled the room. The three of them sat down on the sofa, and the tension was thick in the air. Mr. Miller let out a deep sigh, his shoulders sagging. "Don't worry; Silver will be fine. You can trust Charlie," his wife said, putting a comforting hand on his arm to help calm his worries.

"Yes, he will keep my sister safe. And I like him better than Parel sis's boyfriend," Ruby chimed in.

"What?" Both parents looked at her in surprise.

"Why do you say that?" her mother asked, her brow furrowing slightly.

"I don't know, but I just don't feel safe with him," Ruby admitted, her voice lowering as she looked between her parents.

Her mother's expression softened as she wrapped her arms around Ruby in a comforting hug. "It's okay, sweetheart. We'll keep you safe," she whispered, trying to ease her daughter's concerns. After a moment, she gently pulled away and smiled. "Let's go have lunch."

"I'm going to check on Parel," her dad said, heading toward the stairs.

"Is big sister alright now?" Ruby asked, her eyes searching her mother's face for reassurance.

"She is alright," her mother replied, standing up with Ruby and guiding her toward the kitchen.

Meanwhile, Parel was resting in the guest room, struggling to process the truth about Jayden. The news had hit her hard; she couldn't believe that someone like him wanted to hurt her and her family. The thought sent chills down her spine, and she felt a knot of fear in her stomach.

Charlie and his team were busy installing cameras around the house, working quickly to ensure everything was set up properly. Silver stood nearby, her hands clenched into fists, the tension clear on her face.

"Let's call him," Charlie said.

Silver nodded and dialed Jayden's number. She asked him to come to her house at 5 in the evening, and Jayden agreed without hesitation. After she hung up, Charlie hugged her gently.

"Don't be nervous. He can't hurt you," Charlie reassured her.

Silver nodded, taking a deep breath. "I'm going to freshen up," she said, stepping away for a moment.

After Silver returned, she and Charlie sat together in the living room. A team member brought sandwiches and drinks for everyone. Charlie had asked her to buy the food and paid for it. The team started eating, but Silver, still tense, refused. Charlie noticed and gently nudged her.

"You need to eat, my angel," he said, handing her a sandwich.

Silver hesitated at first, but with Charlie's encouragement, she took a bite. Eating helped her feel a little calmer.

As time passed, Jayden's arrival drew closer, and the tension in the room grew. Two of Charlie's team members were inside with him, three were hidden outside, and two more watched the gate from a distance.

Silver glanced at the clock. Jayden could arrive any minute now, but with Charlie and his team ready, she felt a little safer.

Charlie's walkie-talkie crackled, and a man's voice came through. "Chief, he's here."

The intercom buzzed, signaling someone was at the gate. Charlie stood up, his face tense. "Silver, he's here," he said.

Two of his team members quickly headed to Silver's room, where they had set up the camera feed to monitor everything that was about to happen.

Silver stood, her voice soft and anxious. "Charlie, if anything happens to me, please take care of my family."

Charlie pulled her into a hug. "Silver, nothing will happen to you. I promise."

The intercom buzzed again, louder this time.

"Someone's getting impatient," Silver said as they pulled away from the hug.

Charlie looked into her eyes, his voice firm. "I'll be right here. He can't hurt you again, alright?"

Silver nodded, her heart racing, but with Charlie's steady presence, she felt a little braver.

Charlie glanced at the screen on the wall showing the camera feed from the gate and saw Jayden's car parked by the electric gate. He pressed the button to open it and watched as he drove in.

Through his walkie-talkie, Charlie asked one of the team members stationed outside, "Are there any men with Jayden?"

"None, just him," came the reply.

Once the car was parked inside, Charlie quickly closed the gate. He glanced back at Silver one last time. "I'll be in your room," he said, his tone reassuring.

Silver nodded as she watched him walk away, feeling a mix of fear and hope. She took a deep breath and moved to open the front door, ready to face whatever came next.

Hi, Silver." She nodded and opened the door wide to let him in, then closed it behind him, leaving it unlocked.

"Where is your sister? I've been calling her since morning, and she hasn't picked up. I'm worried about her," Jayden said.

"She's gone somewhere with my parents. Why don't you take a seat?" Silver replied. Jayden walked over and sat down on the sofa in the living room.

Jayden leaned forward, clearly irritated. "I just don't understand where she could be. She never goes off without telling me."

Silver's expression hardened, her voice steady. "My sister won't tell you anything anymore. We know who you really are, Jayden Nellon—or should I say, Jayden Gill?"

Jayden's face paled slightly as he leaned back in his seat, struggling to regain his composure. "What are you talking about?"

"You can drop your act now." Silver sat opposite him, her gaze unwavering. In another room, Charlie and his team monitored the screen, listening intently to their conversation.

"What do you mean?" Jayden asked, feigning ignorance.

"Why don't you pick up those documents on the table?" Silver said.

Jayden looked at the table, where several documents were spread out. He picked them up one by one, his expression shifting from irritation to shock. As he read the details, the truth hung heavily in the air between them.

"This is nonsense! It can't be true!" he screamed.

"It's the truth. When people were blaming the company for the actress's suicide, my grandfather hired a private detective to investigate the case. And as you can read there, this is what they found," Silver replied, her voice steady.

"It's not true! My grandfather told me your grandfather set him up. He also killed my parents!" Jayden shouted, his voice laced with anger.

Silver's eyes narrowed. "My grandfather didn't commit any crimes. In fact, he was murdered by your grandfather. Your parents were killed by him too."

"You're lying!" Jayden yelled back, his anger boiling over.

"The shutdown of the entertainment company was his fault. The actors, actresses, and singers who signed contracts were treated like sex tools for money. They had to sleep with sponsors against their will to bring in money for the company. Many killed themselves because of it, but your grandfather was clever enough to keep it all hidden."

"Your grandmother committed suicide because she was ashamed of her husband's actions. Later, he tried to kidnap Parel, but it was unsuccessful. He killed your parents because they wanted to have him arrested, and he killed my grandfather while we were on vacation abroad. After that, your grandfather was arrested but died in jail from a heart attack."

The weight of Silver's words hung heavily in the air as Jayden's face contorted with confusion and rage.

Jayden's hands clenched into fists, his expression a mix of disbelief and anger. "You're trying to make my grandfather out to be some kind of monster, but you don't know what you're talking about!"

Silver leaned in closer, her voice steady and firm. "I know exactly what I'm talking about. The truth is right in front of you. Your grandfather used his power to silence anyone who stood in his way, including your parents."

Jayden's jaw tightened as he stared at her, the weight of her words sinking in, but his mind refused to accept them. "My grandfather… he took care of us. He loved us."

Silver didn't flinch, her gaze unyielding. "Love doesn't justify what he did. He protected you, yes, but at the expense of others. He manipulated, controlled, and destroyed lives—including your parents."

Jayden's breath hitched, the sharpness of her words cutting deeper. "My parents? No… that can't be true."

Silver nodded, her expression softening slightly but her resolve firm. "It is, Jayden. Your parents stood up to him, questioned his methods, and for that, they paid the ultimate price.''

Jayden's fists tightened, his knuckles white. "No. That's not true. He wouldn't… he couldn't have done that."

Silver's expression hardened, her voice unwavering. "Your grandfather was a greedy man, Jayden. He wanted nothing but money and power, and he'd do anything to get it. He didn't care who he hurt in the process, even if it was his own family."

Jayden's heart pounded as he shook his head, refusing to accept her words. "You don't know him. You don't know what he did for us. He was a good man."

"A good man?" Silver's eyes blazed with intensity. "A good man doesn't exploit and destroy the people who trusted him. He manipulated everyone around him, even those closest to him. He killed my grandfather, his own friend, just for revenge. And a good man doesn't betray his own blood to protect himself. Your parents learned that the hard way, and you've been living in his lies ever since."

Jayden's voice trembled, his anger barely contained. "You're lying. You have to be." Then, finally, he broke down, tears streaming down his face as the weight of the truth crashed over him.
