Could all of this be linked? What if the two gangs lied about a crucial aspect of all of this situation? What if they lied about the number of monsters?
If there were enough corpses around, a grave whisperer was powerful. It would be hard to resurrect the corpses in time to avoid being reduced to mincemeat, but if an illusionist helped him?
Maybe it was possible, at least, if the two were unbearably powerful and, most importantly, smart, and wasn't here a fella smart enough to fake being an idiot?
If that were true, it meant that it was the Grave Whisperer who killed the two creatures, but that he would have used a horde of fangeds to kill them, or at least one of the two monsters.
That would also mean that many mana clusters were waiting to be collected if they hadn't been harvested yet.
"Are you... are you working with that grave whisperer who's been terrorizing the Refuge?"
