Two days had passed since Sebastian's attack on the Shadow Vipers, and the Refuge was still buzzing with tension and rumors.
Sebastian remained in the refuge to rest and prepare. After his stunt against the Shadow Vipers, he got enough mana to try reaching the second compression level.
But Sebastian knew this was risky to do in the refuge. The place was full of unpredictable and dangerous people, making it hard to focus on improving his skills, taken as he would be in avoiding getting his throat cut.
Sebastian saw the refuge as a terrible place to stay. For this purpose, at least. He wanted to leave and find somewhere quieter and safer outside, where he wouldn't be disturbed.
There, he could work on getting stronger without worrying about the people in the refuge causing problems or interrupting him.
