Chapter 250 - A Blood-Red Bazaar

Sebastian descended the narrow staircase. The musty odor grew stronger, but it also mingled with the faint scent of something else—a sweet, cloying aroma he couldn't quite place.

At first glance, it appeared as though the staircase would continue on indefinitely, winding its way down into the ground like a labyrinth.

Of course, it wasn't like that. In the end, the staircase opened up into a vast, sprawling network of underground passages, or at least it looked as such, given what Sebastian could see from his position.

The tunnels stretched in every direction. It was an underground maze that could have spanned the entire city for all Sebastian knew.

Like the thespian party that got wiped out at the city's plaza, there really was something here.

The tunnels were far from empty, as one might have assumed if he or she didn't know what really was here, and as Sebastian hoped.
