Fluffy and the other undead met the Gloom Rats' charge head-on, their own claws and teeth biting into the creatures with the detached efficiency of a glacier grinding rock.
But despite the obvious difference in size, which was weird, honestly, the Gloom Rats were not that weak compared to Thornback Howlers.
It was something that broke the common knowledge that smaller creatures were weaker than bigger ones at the same level.
But Sebastian guessed there were exceptions all the times, and that the rule was true in general, rather than case by case.
Their skin was tough, like leathery armor shielding against the undead's claws. Though short, their legs were remarkably strong, allowing them to move shockingly fast during the fight.
Their smaller scale and weaker bodies, though, were offset by sheer numbers and a wild tenacity. More of ravenous hunger, to be honest. Thus, they battled the undeads on almost equal terms.
