Chapter 229 - Tempting feelings

Hours had gone by since the battle with the Thornback Howlers, and everything went silent in the forest.

Sebastian stood over the corpse of the last fanged he had to retrieve the mana cluster from.

To be precise, it was one of the two that his fallen undead had taken down in their last moments.

He reached down, his fingers closing around the mana cluster that had formed within the beast's body.

He then stored the bead in his backpack.

The Rune Master's gaze drifted to the unmoving forms of his two undead minions, their bodies lying on the forest grounds. Sebastian didn't even think about resurrecting them again, since he got some new friends to play with already.

A pang of something akin to sadness tugged at his heart.

"Well, my rotting friends, I guess this is where we part ways. You know, I always thought I'd be the one to put you back on the ground, not some overgrown porcupine dogs-cows or whatever they are."
