A hush fell over the Savanna as the sun started sprouting from below the horizon.
Sebastian walked through a cluster of tall grasses. It had already been a week since he started hunting around the citadel, and things couldn't have been easier.
"Honestly," Sebastian said as a manic grin tugged at his lips, "this is like shooting fish in a barrel... if the fish were rabid beasts and the barrel was a monster-infested wasteland."
He chuckled. "It's like the fangeds are lining up for a chance to be my next trophy. Maybe I should start charging admission. 'Sebastian's Slaughterhouse Spectacular: Watch the mayhem unfold as he single-handedly decimates the local wildlife!'"
Suddenly, a flicker of movement caught his eye.
"They never learn, uh? Well, not that I'm trying to hide."
The Silent Howler had emerged from its hiding place, its black fur blending with the few shadows remaining around.
