Sebastian opened his eyes and examined the ring in his palm.
It shimmered with a faint, otherworldly blue light. Even the color itself was blue, but there were marginal tints of transparency in it.
The ring in Sebastian's palm looked like a piece of glass, the kind one could see through only with effort.
Sebastian looked at the ring incredulously.
He'd failed and had been frustrated for many hours and days in this past week, since he never made the enchantment. But here he was now.
"Well, I'll be a goblin's uncle," Sebastian turned the ring over in his fingers with a bemused expression.
"I actually did it. Who knew all it took was a few dozen failed attempts, a minor existential crisis, and enough adrenaline to keep awake a sleepy dragon? Maybe I should add 'miracle worker' to my ever-growing list of titles."
