(A.N: This chapter was long and I decided to split it in two.)
The sound of clashing steel and roaring creatures rang throughout the dark jungle.
Sebastian's scouting teams had confronted the advancing Fanged horde, intending to reduce their numbers before they reached the city walls.
The situation was not good. Sebastian's scouting teams engaged the advancing Fanged horde from a distance, but their efforts were proving ineffective, and people kept dying despite them keeping distance from the monsters.
Most of the soldiers were elementalists, and those who weren't were archers, marauders, and assassins.
The first were useful in this situation, but the latter… not really.
There was a clear disadvantage in engaging a horde of monsters in an open space, as much as open a vast forest could be.
The trees offered a lot of protection, but at the same time, they were a hindrance when retreating or escaping.
