Kenway struggled to stay on his feet, blood coating his armor from various wounds. He eyed Sebastian and then asked.
"Where are the others? Leo and Calvin?"
Sebastian met his gaze without talking before turning to look across the ruined cityscape. Two figures shambled toward them, moving awkwardly yet with purpose.
As they came nearer, Kenway saw them clearly. Though changed, he recognized Leo's bow and quiver on one of the two creatures and Calvin's familiar clothes on the other. Realization struck him like a blow.
"No," he said, shaking his head in denial. His smile faltered for the first time since he met him.
But the truth was written in Sebastian's solemn face. Kenway leaned against the broken wall, closed his eyes at the sight of his friends' transformed corpses. Grief threatened to consume him.
