Sebastian peered below from his position. The Marrowghast sentinels were entering inside, advancing further within the shadows.
What was weird was that, aside from the moundfang termites they had just slain, there weren't other creatures around to battle.
Yet why did they go within the building? Why were their weapons drawn and their formation ready?
Besides, there were twenty Marrowghast sentinels entering the building. Wasn't this a little overkill for a bunch of bugs? No, something was not right.
"It can't be a moundfang termite... This doesn't look good…"
Sebastian watched their pale forms recede into the shadows and completely disappear, vigilant as ever for whatever foe drew them so deep.
Something about this place felt wrong to Sebastian, though he did not know why. Was it just an ill omen, or his fraying nerves?
As the last sentinels crossed the threshold, Sebastian noticed a faint sound arising from the darkness they'd entered.
