A day had passed since the group implemented Sebastian's technique to collect water using morning dew.
They gathered only a handful, hardly enough to quench their growing thirst. Kenway, now drinking from his last water bottle, exhaled.
"This is my last one," he said, tilting the bottle to get every drop.
"That's exactly why we need to find a dry riverbed," Leo said, scanning the horizon with a furrowed brow.
"Yeah. I know… Why are you so edgy this morning?"
"Why shouldn't I be—wait… Get down! Get down!" His voice dropped to an urgent whisper, and he dropped quickly to his stomach, blending into the tall grass.
The rest of the party followed suit without hesitation. They lay flat on the ground, their bodies concealed by the golden sways of grass that rustled in the breeze.
Kenway peered through the grass in his direction. "What's going on, Leo?"
