Sebastian made his way away from the recent battleground. He couldn't stay there any longer, but he had a lot of questions in his mind.
"That was just odd. Gloomherds, they're pack creatures. Seeing just one? And here, of all places?"
It was too weird. Gloomherds were forest dwellers, lovers of shadows and dark canopies. What was one doing all the way out there in the open savanna, and so far from any forest?
He couldn't understand. There was something he didn't know about the situation.
"The closest dark woods are southwest of the citadel, and I'm northeast. That means it walked past the citadel... And nobody noticed a giant monster strolling by?"
The more Sebastian thought about it, the stranger it seemed. "There's gotta be a reason it's here. Gloomherds don't just wander off; they're apex predators in their habitat. Something must've driven it out there... But what could scare off a Gloomherd?"
