Meanwhile, poor Fredrick looked like a Disney prince who'd wandered into the wrong story – all charm and smiles, but utterly outshone by Harrison's brooding, domineering presence. It was clear: if Fredrick was the 'happily ever after' guy, Harrison was the 'I'll love you until you obey me' mafia king.
"He's heavenly! Ara-ara, just where did this evilly handsome creature come from?" one girl squealed, her heart racing so hard at the sight of Harrison, whose gaze just went over her.
"He's not just handsome, he's a dark angel, sent to steal our hearts!" another girl chimed in, dramatically clutching her chest.
Another girl couldn't help crying out, "Oh goodness! I… I thought I was here for the freshmen orientation, but why do I feel like a bystander in a dark romance book?"
A girl with crossed legs, tapping her chin, sighed dejectedly "Aiya, comparing Fredrick to Harrison is like comparing a cute, fluffy kitten to a beautiful, fire breathing dragon. They are both captivating but in different ways. Just what have I suffered today" *sob*
A classmate piped up, adjusting her glasses, she squirts her eyes "Oh so it is him, you are talking about Harrison Su? He is the genius who topped the national promotional exams in the city as a whole, like can you imagine that? But, it also had me wondering what he is doing in a simple school as this?"
A defensive student shot back, "Hey, watch it! Our school may not be the most prestigious, but we've got not one, but two gorgeous heartthrobs!"
The classmate raised an eyebrow, "Please, just because he attends our school doesn't mean he'll ever notice you. Don't tell me you came to school just to chase after heartthrobs"?
A guy from the back leaned in and, "Yo! If Harrison doesn't take you, I probably won't mind helping out" his word made the students sitting around them erupt in laughter.
The embarrassed girl's face to turn beet red as she looked around, at the students making mockery of her.
"What…who do you think you are?!" she spluttered, her anger beginning to boil over.
The guy grinned mischievously, enjoying the attention. "Hey, someone's got to save you from heartbreak… you know, when Harrison rejects you."
The students sitting in their area erupted into a mixture of snickers and whispers.
Harrison, however, remained oblivious to the commotion, his piercing gaze scanning the room as if he rather was anywhere but there.
Meanwhile, the embarrassed girl's face turned an even deeper shade of crimson. "Shut up! You think you're funny, but you're just pathetic!" she spat, her eyes blazing with anger.
The guy chuckled, unfazed, he licked his lips. "Hey, someone's got to keep things interesting around here. So what do you say? You, me" he made a heart shape with his fingers and winked.
"Just who do you think you are, you brainless peasant!" The girl almost yelled, rage clouding her emotions and thoughts.
The guy frowned slightly, a hint of irritation now crossing his face. "Why do you think so highly of yourself, huh? You're not that pretty, unlike those two sitting over there."
"I was only doing Brother Su a favour," he said, sizing her up before gesturing toward Delilah and Amy, who sat a short-distance away.
"Yeah, she's been screaming at the top of her lungs all night. Just what is her problem?"
"See, my ears are bleeding!" *sobs*
"It not like she pretty, so what's her deal? Yapping around with her common everyday type face, humph!"
" Ha! Perfect description, let's be friends"
"Get lost! You are no worse than her".
"Aiya, she lacks manners, don't you see? Just who would ever like someone like that?"
" Look, she's about to cry, haha!"
The murmurs among the crowd grew louder as more people joined in, criticizing Wang Xiao's behaviour and appearance. The air was thick with judgment and disdain, creating an oppressive atmosphere.
Wang Xiao's face turned crimson, her cheeks burning with a mix of anger and humiliation. It seemed as if blood might spill from her nose at any moment.
She had never faced such harsh criticism before, and to think she was only fighting for justice. Her eyes, filled with tears and fury, locked onto the girl who had started it all.
"I'm going to make you pay for this," her body trembled with rage and embarrassment, her voice barely a whisper was filled, dripping with venom.
"How is this my fault? Didn't you bring this upon yourself? I was only expressing my thoughts, but you who took it too far," Ning Xiu replied, her eyebrow raised provocatively with a smirk playing on her lips. Her stance was relaxed, almost mocking, as she watched Wang Xiao's reaction.
Wang Xiao's lips pressed into a thin line, her fists clenched ever so tightly at her sides. Without another word, she stood up abruptly, the sound of the chair scraping against the floor echoing through the room.
She stormed out, her footsteps heavy, echoing with each step, as she tried to maintain her composure before she lost control completely. Her eyes were blurry with unshed tears, just what has she done to deserve this?
Watching her retreat, Ning Xiu sneered. "Pfft. Dumbbell," she muttered under her breath before turning her attention back to Harrison, who was waiting for the stage to be set. Her expression softened, and she leaned forward slightly, intrigued by what was to come.
Meanwhile, Amy looked at Harrison as if she had just witnessed a miracle. "Isn't he too handsome?" she said subconsciously, her eyes sparkling like a million stars. Her gaze was fixed on him, unwavering, as if she were in a trance.
Delilah glanced at Amy, then at Harrison, who was on stage, emanating a cold and commanding vibe.
You ~You call him handsome? He is more of scary, just look at the goosebumps on my arms, what do like about him?
She thought as she looked back at Amy, whose eyes had transformed into two pounding hearts. She never thought she'd see Amy in such a state, completely smitten.
If she were to vote, she would choose Fredrick without hesitation. She admits, she is terrified of Harrison, he somehow makes her feel intimidated.
"Why do you think he's there on the stage?" was the question on everyone's mind as a grand piano was wheeled onto the stage and positioned before Harrison.
The sight elicited a collective gasp from the audience, each person seemingly sharing the same thought: is he going to play?
