"Get down, you fools!" Commander Fang roared, his voice laced with a mixture of anger and concern. He knew these young recruits were brave, but their bravery could easily turn into recklessness.
One wrong move, and they would be nothing more than smears on this bovine beast man's hide. Despite the throbbing pain in his nose, he lunged forward, shoving the recruits aside just as this Monster swung its massive club in a deadly arc.
Seeing no escape from this attack, Commander Fang braced for the deadly impact, he focused all of his Cultivation base into his left side where the impact was about to connect.
*BAAAM*
Like a drum has been struck, the massive club struck the silver armor.
The resounding impact thundered across the battlefield, attracting everyone's attention including the other bovine monsters who were about to engage.
Fang braced himself for the inevitable bone-crushing blow, but to his astonishment, it never arrived. With eyes tightly shut, he prepared for searing pain, but none came.
Slowly, he cautiously opened his eyes, disbelief washing over him as he beheld the scene before him. The bovine monster's colossal club hovered mere inches from his left shoulder, halted by a faint, shimmering barrier of light emanating from his silver armor.
"This armor?" he murmured incredulously, stunned by his miraculous survival.
Everyone stood speechless, especially the new recruits, whose faces had been pale with fear just moments ago. "Is it the armor?" many whispered, the question hanging in the air.
The bull-man with the massive club let out a frustrated growl when two silver arrows slammed into his chest. The impact sent him stumbling back three steps, his gaze falling to the silver arrows lodged in his flesh.
His terror-filled eyes said the whole story – as he accepted his fate.
*BOOM!*
Its chest erupted in a violent explosion. A geyser of blood and viscera shot upwards, splattering the surrounding area in a crimson rain. The Minotaur's bellow was cut short, replaced by a sickening thud as its lifeless body crumpled to the ground.
Fang stood in stunned silence, the shimmering barrier around him fading away. The sound of the explosion and the beast's fall finally registered, jolting him back to reality. Nausea swept over him, as he tried to balance his foot.
He stared at his silver armor in disbelief. While he knew it was unique, covering the entire body including the head too, he never imagined it possessed such extraordinary capabilities. It allowed him to channel his cultivation base, imbuing it to create a shielding barrier akin to what Core Formation Cultivators and those above could achieve.
A hushed silence fell over the battlefield as Commander Fang looked at all the recruits looking back at him, his eyes reflecting a mix of astonishment and realization. The recruits caught the tacit message in his gaze: with this armor, they no longer needed to fear for their lives or worry about sustaining injuries in battle.
Commander Fang nodded and pulled his helmet out of his spatial ring. He put the helmet on and raised his family heirloom sword up high. "YEAAAAA!!!!!" He roared with his full might.
Every soldier, whether on the ground or atop the walls with bows in hand, joined in the rallying cry, their collective voices shaking the very earth beneath them.
As the unified roar reverberated through the air, the bovine monsters felt a surge of terror washes over them. They watched in dread as the silver-armored soldiers advanced toward them, no longer on the defensive, no longer cowering in fear, but instead radiating an aura of unyielding determination and courage.
Like a tidal wave crashing through barriers, the silver line pounced forward, and their fear transformed into a fierce resolve. They charged toward their foes—the monsters, the beasts, the source of their dread.
For days they had prepared, practiced, and contemplated, enduring sleepless nights filled with nervous anticipation. But now, all fear for their lives was gone, replaced by a newfound strength that surged within them, empowering their every step forward.
The bovine monsters, caught off guard by this transformation, felt a primal fear in their gut seeing the charging human ranks. These were the same humans they had hunted and dominated, now transformed into fearless adversaries. The sight of their advance, their thunderous roar, sent shivers down the spines of the remaining beast-men.
The once-fearless hunters now found themselves overwhelmed by a sense of vulnerability. The tables had turned, and they were no longer the hunters but the hunted. Panic spread among their ranks as they realized the formidable strength of their foes, now united and fearless in their charge.
Commander Fang led the charge as they all jumped, and flew high, aiming for the head of these monsters, without any fear at all within them. A few of them got swatted by clubs and fists of these monsters but silver armor protected them well, they stood up a moment later like nothing happened to them, just a mild concussion.
The bovine monsters, now reduced to mere scared cattle, fled in terror, their tails tucked between their legs as they sprinted away with surprising speed. They quickly outpaced their silver-clad pursuers and reached the massive wall of flesh—the failed bull charge from earlier.
*WHISTLE*
These bovine monsters, thinking they had outmaneuvered their pursuers, pressed forward, their hearts pounding with the hope of escape. Yet, their relief was shattered by a sudden whistle, a rain of silver arrows upon them.
*ROAR*
With panicked roars, they sought cover behind the mass of their fallen comrades, hoping to shield themselves from the deadly barrage.
Commander Fang swiftly halted, signaling for everyone to follow suit as the onslaught of silver arrows blanketed the entire wall of flesh ahead.
*BOOM! PATAK! PAT! BAM!*
A series of exploding extravagances filled the moonlit night as a bloodmist rose covering the entire flesh wall hiding what was going on.
A silence spread as everyone tried to listen to what was going on, did all the bovine monsters die from the series of small explosions? but no sound came.
*ROAR*
Suddenly, the screaming, painful, terror-filled roars of the bovine monsters filled the night, terrifying even the new recruits who had just gained newfound courage. It sounded like these monsters were fighting even bigger monsters, as slowly, one by one, the screams died down.
