Chapter 2 - Let's Try It

"So this is how you guys did, huh?!" Odin said low but in an intimidating voice.

Odin grinned evilly with the veins his neck bulged because he held back his anger. Look how impudent they are — Odin thought.

Then Odin walked closer to both Guardians in front of him. Accidentally, he looked at the set of system screens that had not closed yet.

Just in one look, Odin knew that it was a System and he thought that it would be for a competition to prepare Ragnarok. Odin knew that many Guardians are obsessed with helping humans and other mortals to face Ragnarok later by creating a [System]. The problem is, there is a rule where Guardians who contract with the God King cannot be the participants of it.

"Aren't the Guardians accompanying the God King can't take part in this competition? You guys are quite brave," said Odin while smiling mockingly.

Meanwhile Brunhilde stuttered and said, "M-Master? W-Wait, it's not like what you see."

Odin then chuckled mockingly and said, "Haah ... it looks like our dinner today is a grilled Guardian. What do you think, Gunnr?"

Brunhilde immediately felt scared and looked at her master in panic. As Brunhilde was about to speak however Gunnr's voice cut her off first.

"I think that's a good idea, Master."

Suddenly Brunhilde threw a glare at Gunnr as if to say — this bitch, can you shut up?

However, the insensitive Gunnr continued, "Brunhilde said that she just did it for hobby."

Hearing Gunnr's words, Brunhilde swore that she would never involve Gunnr in any secrets about herself again. Anything.

"M-Master, I can explain —"

"Hobby? Hahaha ... I was sick because of those shit work and you guys are chilling while do your fucking hobby?! Do you think that I can accept your excuse, huh?" Odin said in an intimidating tone.

Brunhilde was sweating and then said, "W-Wa-Wait m-my O-Odin … I-I mean Master —"

"Then I guess this would be a good secret," said Odin while suddenly changing his voice tone casually.

"Huh? What?" said Brunhilde, who was suddenly confused when she heard her master's words.

Odin grinned and replied, "I'm just kidding, you know? And yet I've broken many rules as the God King."

Hearing her master's words, Brunhilde felt relieved, although she felt a little annoyed by that joke. What a bad joke — she thought.

On the other side, Gunnr suddenly opened his voice, "Master, which side do you think you'll be on when Ragnarok happens?"

"Hm? Why do you ask that?" Odin replied.

"Just curious."

There was a look of wonder on Odin's face and shortly afterward he replied, "Of course I'll be on the Gods' side."

"Why?"

"Isn't it obvious? Those humans deserve to be destroyed," Odin said as he smiled sarcastically at his Guardians.

"..."

"They abandon their Gods when they are happy, but when they get in trouble they will whine about all the bad things that happen to them ..."

"..."

"... they also complain about many things and that really makes me sick to hear their sucky wish everyday, even I guess being human isn't that hard," Odin explained as he sat on the couch there.

Hearing her master's words, Brunhilde clenched her fists. As one of the Guardians who stood by the side of humans, Brunhilde was certainly offended by Odin's statement.

She spontaneously replied, "Pardon me for this, but you are wrong, Master."

Odin frowned. But afterward, he grinned while looking at Brunhilde.

"Wrong? Ah, I forgot that many Guardians are on the human side. So you are one of them, huh?" said Odin intimidatingly.

Brunhilde gulped as she realized the foolishness of her action and then said, "O-Of course not! I have been doing some research on humans lately and I think human life is so hard. Moreover, many of them have to fight hard to stay alive."

"Really? But, I've gotten a few wish reports for approval and mostly nothing important, not like what you said," Odin said while smiling sarcastically.

"I-I think it's just a matter of perspective, Master. Maybe, it doesn't matter at all for you, but for them —"

"Then, do you think it's normal to ask the Gods to deal with their poop because of the dysfunction of something they called a toilet? And oh! Do you think I should give a fucking happy smile when someone prays by cursing the Gods' name because of his broken love?" Odin cut Brunhilde off impatiently.

"I-I think for that last one it could be because she has a sincere love for that man."

Odin laughed cynicly and then said, "It's 'he' not 'she', and the person he loves is also 'he'. So, do you think I should support their forbidden love and violate a destiny line that was created directly by our Majesty [Zero] for humans?"

"..."

"Even me who was created directly by Its Majesty [Zero]. Do you think I still dare to violate one of His destiny lines?" Odin said in a sarcastic tone while rolling his eyes.

Hearing her Master's explanation, Brunhilde was looking down in silence. She wanted to defend humanity, but on the other hand, her Master's words were true.

"..."

"Hahaha, calm down. After all, these are just arguments based on a certain perspective and I've no problem with that. But, I still don't understand why a lot of Guardians choose to be on the human side, even though you are part of Heaven," Odin continued his words.

"..."

"But well ... it's none of my business. Anyway, Brunhilde, what kind of [System] are you creating?" Odin asked later.

Brunhilde seemed to flinch when she heard her name being called, but then she replied, "Huh? This? I'm just doing it as a hobby, Master."

"Tsk, I know. Don't worry, I will not forbid you about that. So, just explain it, I might be able to help you submit it secretly," Odin said.

Hearing those words, Brunhilde smiled widely. Although her master seemed blunt, she didn't think that Odin was as bad as rumored.

With a little nervously, Brunhilde replied, "In short, my [System] will allow each Gods to choose an avatar to be their Apostle. They will be able to accompany directly the apostle who has been chosen."

"..."

"But unfortunately, I haven't managed to complete this yet because I get some errors in several parts. So if this is pushed through, it will make the Gods possess a human body," Brunhilde explained.

Shortly after, an idea suddenly occurred to Odin. He thought of a way to have fun during his busy life that was almost driving him crazy.

"Hey, use your [System] on me." Odin said suddenly.

"Huh? Excuse me?"

Brunhilde frowned as she looked at Odin with confusion. What now? — Brunhilde thought.

"Master, isn't that will break the —"

"As long as those damn elders don't find me out, everything will be fine. Moreover, I will just use the dead human body," interrupted Odin.

"But, Master —"

"Tsk, come on, it's only a day in the Mortal Realm which means it won't even be more than half-day in Heaven!"

"..."

"And yet, isn't it good to see how those bastard humans live?" Odin said in a frustrated tone.

Hearing her master's words, Gunnr fell silent. For some reason she had a bad feeling about this, however she knows how stubborn the God King is.

Meanwhile, Brunhilde was actually a little hesitant to do what the God King had asked. But on the other hand, she also thought that might be good for changing her master's thoughts about humans.

On the other hand, Odin actually looked excited. He was in a bad mood for his work and hoped that a day in the Mortal Realm would make his mood better.

"No need to worry, just use your [System] to me and I'll take care of the rest."
