As the door closed behind them, Ken took a deep breath, steeling himself for the conversation ahead. He turned to his father, his heart heavy with the weight of his revelation.
"Dad," Ken began, his voice trembling with emotion. "I need to tell you something."
His father's eyes met his, filled with a mixture of curiosity and concern. "What is it, son?" he asked, his voice weak but gentle.
Ken hesitated for a moment, struggling to find the right words. "When I woke up in the hospital after getting struck by lightning," he started, his voice barely above a whisper, "I... I foresaw this happening. I saw you lying here, in this room, with me by your side."
His father's expression softened, but there was a hint of disbelief in his tired eyes. "You mean... you saw all of this before it happened?" he asked, his voice tinged with skepticism.
Ken nodded, tears threatening to spill from his eyes. "At first, I didn't believe it," he admitted, his voice choked with emotion. "But now... now that it's actually happening..."
His father's hand tightened around Ken's, a frail gesture of solidarity. "Son, I want to believe you," he said, his voice filled with genuine concern. "But seeing is believing, and this... it's just too much to take in."
Ken understood his father's skepticism, but he couldn't shake the feeling of urgency. Determined to prove himself, he focused his thoughts, attempting once more to glimpse into the future. And then, like a flash of lightning, it came to him.
As Ken tried to see into the future again, he saw a chaotic scene outside the room. A nurse messed up an injection for a rich guy named Mr. Johnson. The doctor and Mr. Johnson got really mad at her.
"You messed up big time!" the doctor yelled at the nurse. "This shot was for Mr. Johnson, and you blew it!"
The nurse looked scared and said, "I'm sorry, Doctor. I didn't mean to..."
Mr. Johnson was furious. "Sorry won't cut it! You put my life at risk! I want to talk to the bosses now!"
The doctor scowled at the nurse. "You'll pay for this mistake. And Mr. Johnson, we'll fix things, I promise."
Ken saw all these with his future sight ability.
Then he stops his ability to tell his father what he saw. As Ken spoke to his father, he recounted the events of his vision, including the heated exchange between the doctor, the rich man, and the nurse. "Dad," he explained, "I saw a nurse making a mistake with an injection. The doctor and a rich man were really mad at her." His father listened intently, a furrow forming on his brow as he processed Ken's words.
Just as Ken finished speaking, their conversation was punctuated by a sudden eruption of voices from the hallway. The unmistakable sounds of the doctor's yelling matched Ken's description perfectly, sending a shiver down their spines. Ken and his father exchanged a startled look, the reality of Ken's visions hitting them with newfound weight.
