Jules' pov
Everyone in the room stiffened, and then they exchanged uneasy expressions. I rolled my eyes a little as the leader of the council members cleared his throat almost awkwardly.
"Your majesty… only yourself and we, the council members are supposed to be allowed to speak here, since it's- it's…" he was still speaking when I cut him off.
"Blaze would speak here if he wants to, and nothing's gonna happen." I said calmly and everyone spluttered.
"He is my mate and I intend to get together with him, officially. I'm not asking for permission right now, I asked for this meeting because I wanted to let you all know about my decision."
Once I was done speaking, I let out a small exhale while his council members began to murmur amongst themselves once again. Behind me, Blaze's scent sweetened just as his hold around me tightened. He was clearly pleased, like I was when he made that statement to the council members.
