Chereads / Creating games in the future / Chapter 11 - Chapter 11

Chapter 11 - Chapter 11

I woke up tired, but I'm completely satisfied, I was thinking so much about the players of this world, about the games market, that I almost forgot something obvious, I don't need to do something to please the players of this world, that's a problem for Alexander of the future.

Now I want to enjoy this new life, doing what I like, I got out of bed and looked at Kratos, I could draw him perfectly, being able to remember everything in such detail is very useful.

In the training room, just as I was about to start the warm-up, my father walked in with a smile on his face.

"Alex, that was an incredible movie, after watching it, and seeing how much the older brother cares for the younger one, and how hard he worked to find her, I made a decision."

He paused for a moment, and looked at me with a strange smile on his face.

"I'm going to increase your training."

"What, why? I'm already doing what's recommended for my age."

"Bleerrr, recommended? That's just nonsense that these activists like to defend, don't beat your child, don't take your child to war zones, don't teach your child assassination techniques, blah blah blah."

As much as I loved the Age of Peace, it really bothers me how these guys are making the new generation so weak, you as an older brother need to know how to defend yourself and your family if you need to.

You're not going to refuse, are you?"

"Huh?!"

I looked over and saw Melissa watching me, she seemed to be thinking about something.

(Shit, I can't lose the image of an amazing older brother, damn it.)

"All right."

"Good, let's get started."

As soon as I turned around I heard him whispering.

"Hehe, let's see if you'll go 'psss' on me again."

"Eh?!"

(That bastard, so that's why, you stingy bastard, just wait, I'm going to spend all your money on my game.)

(╬ ಠ益ಠ)

After all this exercise, my body no longer wants to obey me, damn, what a stingy father, now I understand those people who go to the gym and complain of pain for several days.

I'm going to take a shower, I want to learn all the functions of the creative table for game development, today is going to be a long day.

.......

After lunch, Mom went out with Melissa and Jade, they said something about buying something, I didn't pay attention, today I'm going to start my new project.

I walked into the room, looked at the creation table, I'm really excited, who would have thought that even after dying and being reborn I would be able to continue doing this, taking a deep breath, let's start.

"Luna, let's create a new project."

The table quickly lights up and a hologram of a white-haired girl in a green dress appears.

"Good morning Alex, before starting the new project, I'd like to post our latest project on Vortex Infinity."

"Vortex Infinity?"

"It's the largest independent animation website today, anyone can post their animations there, it's also possible to charge a price for access to the movie, but for beginners it's recommended to leave access free, until you have a small fan base to follow future work."

"Hmm, that's fine, you can post it, it would be good if more people could see it."

"Okay, I'm creating an account, what creator name would you like to put?"

"Name?... I don't know... it could be anything... Batata Produções, let's go with that."

"....."

" ??? I don't like it?"

"No, that's fine, if you like that name ok, I'll post the movie."

"Humm, ok, since we've sorted that out, let's get on with it, Luna I want to know all your functions for creating games."

"Games? Let's work on a game! Great, I'll show you everything."

She seemed excited, spinning around happily, dozens of lights came on around the table, then slowly the room began to collapse and the world went completely white, only me and the creation table were left in this empty space.

"Welcome to the creation space."

Luna suddenly appeared at my side, life-size this time, floating around the place and began to explain.

"Here is the place where you will shape your game, anything can be done here, a battlefield."

She moved her hands and everything began to change, the white backdrop disappeared and before I knew it, we were flying above a planet, if I couldn't feel my feet firmly on the ground, I'd believe we were in space watching a planet from above.

"If you want to recreate a war, between battleships, it's also very easy to create the right environment."

Once again she moved her hands, but this time the scenery didn't change, but moved away from us, and in an instant we were standing somewhere in the universe.

"You can create any environment you like, obviously many scenarios are already ready-made, so you don't have to create them from scratch, and you can simply modify existing ones."

I feel my heart about to burst out of my mouth, I already knew about this creation space, but seeing it with my own eyes, it's completely different from watching a video, this is every developer's dream, to be able to see the world you're creating in this way, it's something simply incredible.

"Luna, I want to create something from scratch."

"Okay."

She moved her hands, and we went back to the blank space.

"First say 'menu', then the creation menu will appear."

"Menu."

As soon as I spoke, a screen with numerous options appeared.

"In the creation menu there are several options, but we're going to focus on creating scenarios, in this option you can choose a clean universe to start with."

"Hmm, a whole universe is a bit much, to make the game I want, I won't even need a whole planet, maybe just a part of one."

"...." ( ಠ ʖ̯ ಠ)

"What's wrong? You look disappointed."

"No, I'm not, I'm just an AI with the ability to generate 100,000 worlds procedurally, I think I can handle a planet, or part of one."

(Damn, I can almost feel her eyes judging me, who programmed AI like that.)

At that moment, neither Luna nor I knew that managing 100,000 planets that players would never land on, and were only there to be destroyed during battles, was much simpler than keeping a world completely alive, but we'll only find out after a few years.

......

It took a while, but I managed to understand how it works, as I'm creating a world completely from scratch, I'll need to create the structure of the planet, ocean, seas, continents, islands, and everything a planet needs.

It's obviously a lot of work, and it will certainly take a long time to finish everything, but I'll admit, I feel like a God moving entire continents.

Originally, I only intended to create God of War 1, but now I've realized that I can make the first three games in this world.

My head was full of ideas, but after creating the oceans and the first continent, I realized a problem: everything is too realistic.

That could be a good thing, but actually it's not, in this universe, all the games are basically reconstructions of great battles from the past, so having something ultra realistic can be a good thing.

The problem is that different types of games require different types of realism, and the bloodiest bald guy in history simply won't be captivating enough if it looks like it was made in live action.

You need a certain artistic touch in the graphics to convey the idea of a mythology.

(Humm, considering that Greek mythology no longer exists, I think it's just going to be a fantasy game).

Suddenly I thought of something, opened the menu and quickly started looking for all the system options, and the more I looked, the more I realized a big problem.

All the system options work with ultra-realistic graphics, which means that if I want to do something more 'artistic', I'll have to do it all myself.

I knew I'd have to make some designers, but I didn't realize that I'd have to make absolutely everything from scratch - I'd have to design every detail of the world.

"You seem happy, you seem to have really enjoyed creating the world, and there are still a lot of features that you haven't tested."

"Hmm?! Happy?"

I touch my face, it looks like I'm smiling, games have always been my passion, I've spent my whole life working as a designer, and even though I haven't realized my dream, I've never regretted the job I chose.

Thinking about designing an entire world really got me excited, even with the AI learning the style of the designers I'm going to make, it's still going to take several years.

I promised myself that I would enjoy this life, and I definitely will, whether it's staying with my new family, designing, annoying Jade, one day traveling the universe, learning about weird and super convenient technologies, meeting some Exceed, these are things I want to do.

And I'm going to do every single one of them. I'm not going to do it like I did in my past life, where I devoted all my time to work, but I'm not going to abandon it either.

"It looks like it's going to take several years to finish everything, but that's okay, time is what I have."

.........

Note: I was talking to some friends about the graphics of games in the future, sometimes I think it's already good, I really don't want to play a game that looks like live action.

But I also think that the graphics could be better, in the end we were divided, and I didn't come to an answer.

Anyway, about the story, I'm thinking about the protagonist's rebirth reward, I already have an idea of what to give him, but nothing concrete.
