Chapter 45 - Unbelievable

The suspended liquid-like droplets in space gracefully twirled between my fingers. I gently rotated my hands, and they followed my movements. As I swung my hands, the circular arrangement transformed into elongated ovals, as if my actions caused the air to flow, creating a magical spectacle. The dots became my dancing companions, akin to fairies in a fairy tale.

Amused, I laughed, and the small blue lights continued to swirl around me as I moved. They left a long trail behind me, forming a beautiful and enchanting ribbon, like a band of stars in a fantasy world.

Gradually, I stopped moving, and so did the lights. They returned to their circular formation, quietly surrounding me. I realized that it wasn't just my hands; they encircled my entire body in layers.

Carefully, I sat down, not wanting to break the connection between them. I gazed at my hands, pinched them, and the dots gathered toward the center. Some adhered to my skin, and as I concentrated on them, they suddenly vanished. Worriedly, I wondered if I had shattered them again, just like in the reservoir.

Extending a finger, I cautiously touched one of the lights, and it adhered to the pad of my finger...

" Suddenly, the blue light was extinguished. The surrounding white light became glaring, and I instinctively shielded my eyes. I couldn't see whether the dot had disappeared or not.The testing chamber must have returned to its original state.

After adjusting to the reappearance of the white light, I slowly uncovered my eyes and looked at my hands again. The lights had disappeared along with the vanishing blue light.

"The radiation resistance level of the tester..." A computerized female voice echoed in the testing chamber. "Level ten."

The surroundings remained quiet. Lowering my hands, I lifted my head to see the stunned faces behind the glass. They were completely stupefied, as if what had just transpired left them unable to comprehend or believe it.

"Hahaha!" Suddenly, Elder Arufa burst into laughter. Everyone slowly came to their senses amidst his laughter, their expressions still marked by profound shock. Elder Arufa laughed heartily as he looked at me. "Hahaha! It seems that the treasure lost by Silvermoon City wasn't their life pods, but you, Yvette. Hahaha! Ominic, Yvette is yours now. She is the treasure of Noah, and you must protect her well." With that, he turned and left, his laughter carrying an air of transcendence.Edmund nodded, "Don't worry, I'll check it thoroughly. Yvette, take care down there. I'll join you as soon as I finish here."

I nodded in acknowledgment, still feeling a bit overwhelmed by the unexpected turn of events. As Edmund continued his work on the radiation testing equipment, I wondered about my new status as the "treasure of Noah." It seemed like my ability to resist radiation was a rare and valuable trait in this world.

The testing chamber opened, and I stepped out, greeted by the eager looks of the Noah Exploration Team members. Ominic was already waiting to escort me.

"Yvette, let's go. We have much to discuss," he said with a smile.

I followed ominic, and as we descended through the underground facility, I couldn't shake off the feeling that my life had taken an unforeseen turn. The significance of my newfound ability was still sinking in, and the responsibilities that came with it were beginning to unfold.

The journey through the Noah City corridors was silent, with occasional glances from team members who seemed both curious and amazed by my presence. We reached a secured area where several rooms were allocated for the Exploration Team.

Once inside, ominic turned to face me, his expression serious. "Yvette, what you just demonstrated is extraordinary. Your resistance to radiation surpasses anything we've encountered before. With your abilities, you can explore areas of great interest to us, areas we considered too dangerous until now."

I listened intently, realizing the weight of the expectations placed upon me. "I'll do my best," I assured ominic.

"That's all we ask," he replied. "But there's more we need to discuss. Your role in our team, the challenges we face, and the secrets hidden in the irradiated zones. Are you ready for this?"

I took a deep breath, feeling the gravity of the situation. "I'm ready," I said, determined to embrace my new role and face the mysteries that awaited in the irradiated zones.ominic's enthusiasm was contagious, and I couldn't help but smile at his excitement. It was strange to think that my ability to resist radiation, something I had always considered a natural part of myself, was now being classified as a unique power in this world.

"Yvette, you're a rare gem in this city," ominic continued, leading me down the corridor. "Your abilities open up new possibilities for the Exploration Team. With you on our side, we can explore areas we've never dared to enter before."

I nodded, absorbing the weight of his words. It was both empowering and intimidating to be viewed as such a valuable asset. As we reached a door labeled "Exploration Team," ominic pushed it open, revealing a room filled with people.

"Team, meet Yvette," ominic announced, gesturing towards me.

The team members turned their attention towards us. Their eyes held a mix of curiosity and surprise. I recognized some faces from the observation room during the radiation test, but most were new to me.

As we walked further into the room, I noticed the varied expressions on their faces. Some looked genuinely intrigued, while others seemed unsure about my presence.

"Yvette, these are the members of the Noah Exploration Team," ominic introduced. "Each one of them possesses unique abilities that contribute to our missions. And now, you'll be part of this incredible team."

I exchanged greetings with the team members, trying to memorize their names and faces. Each had a distinct ability, ranging from telekinesis to enhanced strength. It was a diverse group, united by the common goal of exploring the irradiated zones and uncovering the mysteries of the world.

Celeste, who had left earlier, returned to the room. She glanced at me, her expression unreadable. Emery was still standing by the door, seemingly snapped out of his stupor.

"We have a new member," ominic declared proudly. "And she's not just any member. Yvette here can withstand radiation levels beyond our wildest expectations. She's a game-changer for us."

The team members exchanged glances, and some started whispering among themselves. I felt a mix of excitement and pressure, realizing that I was stepping into a world filled with both unknown dangers and extraordinary abilities.
