Mark raised his head and spread his wings wide apart, standing midair inside Yuri's Glass Dome. Flapping their wings, both the youth with eagle wings and the giant eagle looked down at Mark, condescension written all over their faces. Smoke from the destroyed flying ship still vaguely surrounded them.
"Are you going to fight me?" The eagle-winged youth asked, amused. "Really?"
The Glass Dome vanished, and Mark held Yuri's waist, not letting her fall as he floated with his wings' help. She looked around anxiously, a sense of impending doom on her forehead. But Mark still saw her drop a small coin from her hand.
It flashed with a silver glint as it was lost inside the smoke and dust.
"Stay safe," Mark warned, feeling his hair rise at the sight of the young man's casual stare.
He let go of her waist, and Yuri fell down through the sky, her eyes sharp.
