She could not get over the shamelessness of some members of the Zhang family. Not everyone was bad, of course but there were some that were simply unbearable.
"Do not do any favors for anybody that is not worth it. You are not obligated to do anything Alix, you are my Zhang Caishen's wife, not the Zhang clan's wife. You have the right to say no and assert yourself if you feel wronged, even if it's by me."
His words consoled her and her tense body relaxed. She thought that perhaps packing up and running to her grandparents house was not necessarily the most efficient way to handle the problem. At the end of the day, this was her husband's family and spending a few days with them would not kill her.
It would make her miserable, but it would not kill her.
