The Tais drove Alix to Qianmen, to the place where her mother had three bookstores in different areas. They parked in front of one of the bookstores which was in a building that was next to a museum. Even though she wondered why they were there, she didn't ask.
Instead, she slipped her hand through her father's arm and walked slowly with him, following her grandfather and mother that were walking ahead of them.
She looked around at the busy place, taking in the sights and the crowds. As expected of a place that attracted tourists, it was packed full of them.
Despite the snow, someone was having an event or promoting the opening of a new store. There was a booth outside and loud music was being played. Around five people were dancing in furry animal costumes.
"That's cute." she commented.
"Mmmm." her father responded.
