Chapter 15 - A gift for the young master

Alix left the school with a smile on her face, more cheerful than she had been when she went in.

A car immediately showed up in front of her near the curb on the street before she could hail a taxi.

One man in a black suit also came up from behind her.

Her thoughts went to her father, what had had he planned now? She had not answered two of his calls so had he decided to have her kidnapped?

One hand tightened on her purse and she stlood her groung with a fierce gaze in her eyes.

"Who are you? If you touch me, I will scream." She warned.

"Young madam, the young master has instructed us to go with you everywhere." The man in black who was standing behind her said.

Only one group of people called her young madam and her father's thugs would not be so polite. They would grab her like a sack of rice and toss her into a car which was not as nice as this one.

"Oh..okay." she answered, very much surprised.

She entered the car and the door was closed for her.

A driver at the front looked back and asked her, "Young madam, where are you going? Should I drive you back to the mansion?"

Her heart settled down even more and the palpitations returned to the normal beat.

"My old apartment, please drive to the west village apartment block."

The driver looked to the front and set off immediately.

Alix got comfortable in the back and observed the car with a smile on her face. The seats were black leather, shiny and smelled new.

It was clean, so much so that she could lick it with her tongue and not one speck of dust would come off.

She felt like a queen being ferried around with the expensive car, bodyguard and a driver.

Good lord, no wonder everyone wanted to be wealthy.

She lowered the car window and looked outside as it moved.

The glare of the sun was not as harsh as it had been during the afternoon. It was warmer and felt sweeter.

"Young madam, there is a compartment with water and some drinks in case you get thirsty. The young master told me to tell you that this is your car now and you can stock whatever you want."

The voice of the driver made her look to the front, and she nodded at his words.

Caishen, she thought of his name and smiled. Again, Caishen had done something wonderful for her.

Whether it was out of niceness, duty or simply to ensure that she did not embarrass him, the gesture was appreciated.

"Young madam," The driver called her again. "I will need to be informed of your schedule early in the mornings or the evening. Sometimes I might not be available if the old madam or someone sends me on an errand.

If we coordinate accordingly, then I can make sure to always be available when you need me."

"What's your name?" She asked him.

He was a middle aged man, around her father's age. It was better to address him by his name and not driver.

"Ju Chen, young madam. I live in the family property so you can always send for me if you need something." He answered.

"What about you?" She asked the bodyguard.

"Wang Bi Cang." He answered. He only replied to that which she asked, volunteering no further information.

The bodyguard was younger and very fit. He definitely looked like he did this kind of job.

Alix looked out of the window and thought about the things she was suddenly experiencing. In only days, she had become someone with a driver and a bodyguard. Oh how the tides changed!

If Jin Kang saw her now, she would squeal before diving into the car and taking multiple pictures.

"Young madam, I will give you my phone number when we reach the mansion for easy communication." She heard the driver speaking, again.

"Alright, uncle Ju, I will send you a message every morning." She responded.

The rest of the journey after that short exchange was silent until she got to where she was heading.

A white moving truck was already waiting when she walked out of the car.

The driver of the moving truck was smoking while his two companions watched something on the phone and laughed.

"Excuse me, are you here for apartment 4d?" She asked them.

The driver threw the cigarette on the ground and stepped on it while his colleagues put away the phone and looked at her.

"Are you Miss Lin?" The driver asked.

She nodded. "Please come with me, I want some things moved to the storage unit at your company and others to be sent to my new address."

She led them upstairs to her apartment and went in first before them. She needed to take some things out of the gaming world and bring them over as her property that had always been with her.

All the music instruments she had bought, medicines, the two canaries in a cage and the cat.

When she opened the door and they entered, the movers were surprised to see so many musical instruments in such a tiny apartment.

Why would someone live like this? How did she even breathe in this cramped space?

"The music instruments are going to the mansion. The chairs, tables and electronics into storage." She explained.

She went into her bedroom and shoved as many clothes as she could into a suitcase, grabbed some shoes and the animals.

The only other thing she took was her mother's old jewelry box. Everything else she would sort out later.

Bi Cang, the bodyguard helped her carry the suitcase while uncle Jun took the bird cage.

"Madam, you are raising such beautiful little birds." He commented.

She smiled at the canaries who were strangely silent. Perhaps it was because they were in such an unfamiliar environment. Both of them were still very much fluffy, almost resembling little chicks.

One was yellow and one was red, and to her, they were precious little things. Evidence that the gaming system was real and an opportunity to change her life.

"Uncle Ju, how long have you worked for the Zhang family?" She asked him on the way to the mansion.

"Ten years young madam." He replied.

"Will they be fine with me bringing my pets to the masion?" She asked him.

Uncle Ju smiled and said, "You are the young masters wife. His home is your home and his family is your family. You can bring anything that you want with you."

She relaxed again, and rubbed the fur of the young kitten on her lap.

She recalled that the town chief had said it was a lucky cat and one person needed luck just as much as she did.

It will be you, she thought in her heart. You are going to be my gift to the young master. Hopefully, he was not allergic to fur.
