Chapter 29 - The Enigma of Leena

"Looking at her the morning has fallen"

Sami sat at his desk, his eyes fixated on Leena as she moved about the room with a grace that both fascinated and puzzled him. He had never understood Leena properly, and each conversation with her only deepened his suspicions about her character. There was something about her—something elusive, like a fleeting shadow that danced just beyond his reach.

Leena had once said, "Man loves mystery," and Sami now found himself reluctantly agreeing. Every time he saw her, she seemed different—an ever-changing puzzle, a conundrum wrapped in an elegant exterior. She was so distinct from the rest of the crowd, so different from him.

He adored her beauty, the way her presence could light up a room, and the way her laughter could soothe the rough edges of his world. But it wasn't just her beauty that captivated him; it was her character. There was a depth to her, a complexity that he couldn't quite unravel. She was like a book with pages that never stayed still long enough to be read, yet he was compelled to keep trying, hoping to catch a glimpse of the story within.

One thing that gnawed at him was her smile. Leena always had a smile on her face, but Sami had come to recognize it as a facade, a mask she wore to keep the world at bay. It was a smile that never reached her eyes, a smile that felt as distant and unattainable as she was. He realized that he had never seen her true smile, the one that would reveal the genuine emotion behind her guarded exterior.

How had her real smile vanished? Sami thought he knew. He saw no scar on her face, but now, with a clarity that startled him, he could see the scar on her heart. The pain she hid so well, masked by that perpetual smile, was a wound she carried deep within her.

Sami leaned back in his chair, his thoughts swirling. What was it about Leena that made her so different? Why did she always feel like a mystery he was desperate to solve? Perhaps it was that very mystery that drew him to her, that made him want to uncover the layers beneath her enigmatic smile.

He sighed, knowing that the more he tried to understand her, the more she slipped through his fingers. But there was no denying it—he was completely captivated by Leena, and even if he never fully understood her, he knew he could never look away.
