I must have fallen asleep by the riverbank because when I woke up, I felt that the chill that had been in the air was almost gone and there was a heat under my skin that hadn't been there earlier.
Reaching out for Zane, I felt him there in the back of my mind, but he just grumbled at me. Whatever had happened to him after leaving that f*cking cottage must have worn off and he seemed just to be in a bad mood.
When I realized that he was back to his usual self, I knew that I must have stayed here much longer than I should have. I was trying to focus myself and get ready for the day.
As I stood and began walking back to Blood Mist, I stretched out my arms and legs and I realized that I was in a much better position than I was in last night or yesterday depending on how I wanted to look at it.
