Chapter 28 - Chapter Twenty Eight

 A New World Beckons

As Beauty and Jake stepped onto the campus grounds, they were immediately struck by the vastness of their new surroundings. Everything seemed different from the familiar halls of high school—strange faces, bustling crowds, and a sense of freedom mingled with uncertainty. Jake and Beauty found themselves at a loss for words as they took in the sights and sounds of university life.

For Beauty, the transition was particularly challenging. Amidst the excitement of starting a new chapter, she couldn't shake the feeling of homesickness that gnawed at her heart. She longed for the comforting presence of her father, Mr. Benson, and wished she could turn to him for guidance and support as she navigated this unfamiliar terrain.

Jake, ever the pragmatic one, tried to reassure Beauty that this was all part of the journey. "We're in a whole new world now, Beauty," he said, his voice tinged with a hint of solemnity. "Things are going to be different, but that doesn't mean we can't handle it. We've got each other, remember?"

But Beauty couldn't shake off the sense of longing that filled her heart. "I miss my dad," she confessed, her voice barely above a whisper. "I wish I could see him every day, like before."

Jake nodded sympathetically, understanding the depth of Beauty's emotions. "I know, Beauty. But we're here now, and we have to make the most of it. Your dad would want you to focus on your studies and make him proud. That's what matters most."

Just then, Beauty's phone rang, breaking the somber silence that had settled between them. With trembling hands, she answered the call, her heart racing with anticipation.

"Daddy!" she exclaimed, her voice filled with joy as she heard Mr. Benson's familiar voice on the other end of the line. "I've missed you so much!"

"My princess," Mr. Benson replied, his voice warm with affection. "How are you finding university life?"

Beauty's smile faltered slightly as she thought of her earlier doubts and fears. "It's different, Daddy. I miss you."

Mr. Benson's heart ached at the sound of his daughter's longing. "I miss you too, my dear. But remember, this is your chance to shine. Make the most of it, and I know you'll do great things."

Tears welled up in Beauty's eyes as she listened to her father's words of encouragement. "I promise, Daddy," she whispered. "I'll make you proud."

Mr. Benson's voice was filled with pride as he replied, "I know you will, my princess. And don't forget, Jake is there with you. Look out for each other, okay?"

Beauty nodded, her resolve strengthened by her father's unwavering support. "I will, Daddy. I love you."

"I love you too, my dear," Mr. Benson replied, his voice filled with warmth. "Now, give the phone to Jake."

Jake took the phone, his heart swelling with gratitude for the bond he shared with Beauty and the trust Mr. Benson placed in him. "Good afternoon, sir," he said respectfully.

"Good afternoon, Jake," Mr. Benson replied, his voice tinged with paternal affection. "Remember, you and Beauty are like family now. Take care of each other, and never forget the bond that binds you together."

"We will, sir," Jake replied earnestly. "Thank you for everything."

With renewed determination and a sense of purpose, Beauty and Jake hung up the phone, ready to face the challenges of university life together. As they walked hand in hand, they knew that no matter what lay ahead, they would always have each other's backs. And with Mr. Benson's words of wisdom echoing in their hearts, they embarked on their journey with hope, courage, and a deep sense of gratitude for the love and support that surrounded them.
