Chapter 83 - Destiny

"Old man, what are you looking at?" Lin Chuan's voice rang out from behind Slug.

At the same time, his crimson penetrating wave tore through space.

Hearing this, a heavy feeling sank into Slug's heart, and his enormous body swiftly turned around.

What caught his eye was a glaring crimson energy sphere.

"What!!! Is this...?!!!" Feeling the terrifying destructive power contained within this energy, Slug instinctively crossed his arms in front of his chest to protect it.

'Boom!!!!!!!'

The crimson penetrating wave instantly pierced through his arms, penetrated his torso, and dealt a devastating blow to Slug.

'Puah~~!!!' As his body and hands were penetrated, Slug spat out purple blood, and his energy rapidly declined as if plummeting off a cliff.

"My... body... my... power... No!!!" The aged Slug could not control the loss of his power.

Due to the severity of his injuries, his Titan transformation began to recede, and he gradually reverted to his normal stature.

Because of his advanced age, the power he could exert in his normal form was reduced to a fraction of his former self.

Now, even Piccolo could easily overpower him.

Even Gohan was now more than a match for Slug.

"If I were young... if it were me in my youth... I am not willing to accept this!!" Slug lay on the ground, filled with resentment.

He despised how his body had aged to such a state.

If he were in his youthful state, such injuries, even several more severe ones, wouldn't have reduced his fighting power much.

And such wounds? He could recover in a moment.

Slug struggled to stand up but found himself surrounded by Namekian warriors.

With his severe injuries and no subordinates left to aid him, it seemed impossible to turn the situation around.

"I never imagined that I, the once mighty Emperor of the Galaxy, would come to this... Damn it!" Filled with uncontrollable anger, Slug was furious.

Had he resigned himself?

Perhaps!

But not entirely!

At least, deep down, Slug had not submitted, nor did he realize that his return to Planet Namek was a mistake from the start.

If he had come with good intentions, if he had retained even a sliver of conscience, he would not have attacked his home planet.

But he did attack!

He did not come as a Namekian but as a once-galactic Emperor.

Slowly descending, Lin Chuan approached Slug, and suddenly, he heard the Great Elder's call.

[Lin Chuan, thank you for defeating this child of mine who fell into the path of evil. Please bring him to see me.]

This communication ability was something Lin Chuan had recently learned from the Great Elder, a method of interaction unique to the Namekian race.

Initially, he didn't care to learn it, but later, he found the method useful and decided to understand it.

It also made it convenient for the Great Elder to contact him.

[Understood, but I suggest we kill him instead. It's not that I underestimate him, nor do I think he's beyond redemption, but if he gets a chance to breathe, then once I leave Planet Namek, none of you will be a match for him, nor will you be able to suppress him.] Lin Chuan communicated his thoughts back to the Great Elder.

[I will try to persuade him... If he remains obstinate, then we'll do as you say.] The voice of the Great Elder came back, and Lin Chuan no longer responded.

The Great Elder, by nature, was somewhat indecisive, unwilling to give up without trying.

...

Stepping in front of Slug, Lin Chuan looked down from a superior height, inspecting Slug.

"Damn... are you here to humiliate me?! Saiyan!!" Slug, unwilling to accept his fate, glared at Lin Chuan with endless resentment and murderous intent.

It was because of him that he had fallen into this state.

"I have no interest in humiliating an old man like you. You should be grateful that the Great Elder of Namek, your father, wants to see you, which is why you've temporarily kept this little life of yours. Otherwise, that strike just now wouldn't have just injured you; it would have left you dead without a corpse." Lin Chuan responded coldly, causing Slug to be taken aback.

His father?!

With a cold gaze fixed on Lin Chuan, Slug struggled to maintain his composure.

Having already been defeated, he chose another way to preserve his dignity.

"Nothing but a Saiyan dog from a race exterminated by Frieza! You're just a lucky survivor, a cowardly dog. My strength is not something an ant like you can fathom!!"

"If it were me in my youth, your little bit of power would be nothing; I could crush you with one hand!!"

Slug's rebuttal seemed meaningless to Lin Chuan.

He coldly stared back at Slug, his eyes void of any emotion.

With a loud 'bang!', the space around them seemed to ripple with the shockwave.

Not killing Slug did not mean he couldn't continue to beat him.

This guy was too arrogant, and Lin Chuan couldn't stand his presumptuous attitude.

A powerful slap knocked out two of Slug's teeth.

Affected by this terrifying force, Slug's eyes rolled back, and he passed out.

"Dead duck's tough talk," Lin Chuan commented dryly, turning away.

The Namekian warriors witnessing this were sweating profusely, their mouths twitching continuously.

They always knew Lin Chuan was strong, but this level of force seemed excessive... and his method of suppression was ruthlessly face-saving.

"It's finally a bit quieter. Neru, take him to see the Grand Elder," Lin Chuan told Neru.

Neru understood the situation well.

"Right, before that..." Neru nodded, not moving immediately but instead looking up at the sky enveloped in dark smoke.

"We can't let that machine continue to release the poison mist; it must be destroyed," Neru said, gathering a tremendous amount of energy in his hands.

Seeing his intention, everyone understood.

With a 'boom!', a massive explosion erupted thousands of meters in the sky.

The sky was lit by Neru's released energy, exploding like fireworks.

The machine creating the Demon Realm mist was destroyed, and the darkness enveloping the surface of Planet Namek quickly dissipated.

What was left was a ravaged battlefield and that massive spaceship.

That thing might be of interest to Bulma for research.
