Chereads / Dragon Ball One Power Level Per Second / Chapter 7 - Vegeta and Nappa

Chapter 7 - Vegeta and Nappa

It is located in an unimaginably distant galaxy from the Solar System.

On a dark gray life planet, two men dressed in Frieza Force combat suits were feasting on the creatures of this planet.

Of course, they were eating after roasting them over a fire.

Undoubtedly, they were Vegeta and Nappa.

Initially, Vegeta and Nappa didn't care about Raditz going to Earth to find someone named Kakarot.

After all, Kakarot was just a low-level warrior with a power level of 2 when he was born.

Even if he's still alive and grown up, how much could his power level be?

To them, he couldn't even help clean up the battlefield.

After all, even someone like Raditz was considered trash in Vegeta's eyes.

He's not much, and he's not worth less.

If it weren't for the fact that only a few of them were left among the Saiyans, he would have abandoned them long ago.

Knowing that Raditz had arrived on Earth if they hadn't already taken over this planet, he wouldn't have bothered to pay attention.

The changes ahead were indeed somewhat unexpected. After all, it was surprising that there was a way to control the power level on Earth.

But later, learning that Raditz had almost been taken out several times made him explode angrily.

In his words, he had raised a good-for-nothing for so many years.

He's not even as good as Kakarot, who was born with a power level of only two and barely reaches a thousand!

He can't do anything, but eating is his priority.

However, for him, Raditz also brought him a particular piece of information: others are going to Earth.

Although they didn't know who it was, the fact that the opponent's power level was as high as 5000 indicated that Earth had already attracted the attention of the Frieza Force.

A planet as remote as this one is almost worthless, and no one would bother investigating such a planet that would fetch little money.

"Vegeta, will we just let Raditz deliver the message like this? The value of that planet is worth at least a hundred richly mineralized large life planets," Nappa said after swallowing the food he was chewing.

They say simple-minded people have well-developed limbs, but Nappa, with his well-developed limbs, was more brainless than described in the original.

He had a brain, but he was single-minded.

"It doesn't matter! I want to see what the other side's reaction will be! As a member of the same force, he was so disrespectful even after knowing Raditz was under me. Who's the leader of their team? I'm quite curious," Vegeta's eyes flashed with a cold light, and then he continued, "Even if Raditz is worthless, he's still my subordinate! Not just anyone can bully him."

He had his plan, and doing so was purposeful.

For him, as long as there was utility, it couldn't be better!

If they weren't willing to cooperate, after understanding the specific details, they would consider how to handle it.

Although he had always been ranked in the middle-upper of the Frieza Force, not even considered a top warrior, with a power level 18000, Vegeta feared no one except Frieza and the Ginyu Force. Even when facing Dodoria and Zarbon, he always maintained his pride!

Even someone as proud as him had to fully wake up after experiencing the beating on Namek in the original.

...

Earth.

Looking at Raditz in front of him, Lin Chuan's expression was unpredictable.

If it were the surveyors of the Frieza Force, they would have accepted such recruitment.

After all, who would refuse a readily available merit?

What a pity!

Regardless of whether it was Vegeta's idea or Raditz's plan, they picked the wrong person.

Lin Chuan was not interested in such matters at all.

Looking at Raditz, Lin Chuan went from just thinking he was useless to slowly showing a hint of pity.

To be honest, Raditz was indeed pitiful.

In his whole life, not only did he not achieve glorious victories, but he also ended up dying miserably on Earth, killed by his own younger brother.

Is he evil? Well, he certainly has some evil traits.

To make Goku submit, he even said he would make Goku kill one hundred Earthlings to surrender.

He even kidnapped his nephew to use as leverage.

But is he truly evil?

Not really!

Ultimately, to demonstrate his strength, Raditz wanted to make his little brother Goku listen to him forcefully.

From arriving on Earth to meeting his end with Goku, he can only claim to have killed that farmer who attacked him with a gun...

In other words, Raditz's death was quite unjust.

As the first boss to appear in the early chapters of the grand universe, he closed the curtain on the new era after opening it.

Raditz's life can be described in just two words: tragic and miserable.

In his early days, he followed Vegeta's side, following the king's orders, until Vegeta's planet was destroyed, leaving him at the bottom of the ladder as a laborer.

Later, he finally found some recognition, only to perish alongside his younger brother.

While he brought some of it on himself, who can say this wasn't scripted? If Raditz were truly irredeemably evil, he wouldn't have just suggested Goku kill one hundred Earthlings to surrender; he would have obliterated the Earth, a task well within his capabilities.

In comparison, Raditz showed a bit more humanity.

Think about it: Nappa's mindless brutality, torturing and killing people at the drop of a hat; Vegeta's cold-heartedness, not sparing even loyal comrades like Nappa.

Given this contrast, Raditz's arrival on Earth involved minimal destruction and, upon finding Goku, focused mainly on persuasion. Even when met with rejection, he resorted to coercion rather than outright violence. If it were Nappa or Vegeta, would there have been as many opportunities for choice?

And that's not even the saddest part.

Before dying, Raditz believed his heartfelt plea could convince Vegeta to come to Earth and use the Dragon Balls to revive him.

To live, to die, and even after death, he remained deeply aggrieved.

The saddest part is that he didn't even realize how pitiful his situation was...

From initially wanting to kill Raditz to gain entry into the Z Warriors circle, Lin Chuan had developed a slight sense of sympathy.

He was a living person in a realistic world.

This wasn't a game, and it wasn't scripted... his thoughts and feelings could change based on his experiences.

Looking at Raditz, still proudly discussing terms, Lin Chuan felt compelled to speak up:

"First of all! My assessment of you isn't just mocking; it's genuine disdain! Because you, seemingly intelligent, are quite foolish."

"Secondly, given that we're both Saiyans, your power level 1500 is pathetic. You can only display this level of strength, weak enough to bully your younger brother for fun. In my eyes, this is the most useless performance."

"We Saiyans should become stronger with every battle, yet in front of your brother, and you showed such cowardice and timidity!"

"Lastly, being sold out and still helping to count the money! Utterly foolish! Were those words earlier taught to you by Vegeta from the other side of the galaxy? Don't you realize that your words might bring about your own demise?"

"This is Earth, across endless galaxies. If I wanted to kill you at the drop of a hat, who could save you?"

Finishing his tirade, Lin Chuan smirked.

He suddenly changed his intentions, now wanting to extend a hand to Raditz.

Of course, Raditz would have to be willing to take that hand and break free from his current path.

Since Vegeta used him to test and recruit, Lin Chuan would change Raditz's path, leading him to face Vegeta one year later.

Raditz battling Vegeta would be quite an exciting turn of events.

He didn't expect Raditz to defeat Vegeta, but under his guidance, defeating Nappa should be entirely feasible.
