Chapter 39 - The Hunter, The Sniper And The Silvers Part 5

*Bang*

The Bullet went through Rio's forehead. Rio couldn't process his thoughts as he lay on his back. Jamis is also lying on his back and sighs while watching the blood coming out from Rio's head.

"It's over. I win. I win this match Rioga Tenjiro." Jamis then tried to stand up but fell on one knee as a huge amount of the blood flowed out from his right arm. The whole arm has been cut in half by the sword Rio uses.

"I suppose this is a consequence for my sacrifices... Anyway, let's head back to the others and-" As Jamis drank his healing potion and tried to fix his right arm up, he realized that the electricity around Rio's body hadn't completely gone.

"Weird, the spell he uses to enchant his body is still up. Is it still active for a while even when the user is dead? When will it be gone? Until the mana ran out from his body? No, wait. What is this uneasy feeling? Why? Something tells me he's not dead yet. But how?" Jamis curiously stands up but keeps his distance from Rio's body. With the magic revolver in his hand, he is aiming at the Rio's corpse.

"There's no real consequence on this. One bullet or two doesn't matter." A sweat or a two also dropped from his face. As Jamis pulls the trigger on his revolver. The supposedly to be a corpse's finger slightly moving. The next second, Jamis was surprised Rio was approaching him at full speed.

"WHAAAAAT!!!??" Jamis pulls the triggers out of panic. One bullet went onto his right cheek and another one to his left shoulder. Another second passed. As Rio gets close to Jamis, he lifts his right arm and tries to throw a punch to Jamis's face.

In under 1 second, Jamis makes a deduction of his next action. Whether he should dodge it. Or Block it. Jamis chose to block his punch with his left arm. The force of Rio's punch was so strong that it broke Jamis's other hand.

Should he have dodged the punch? No. He couldn't make it. But then what other option does he have? To use his arm that was 'cut in half? It doesn't matter. As for his action for the last 3 seconds... Were done by reflex and panic. The same for his previous two shots. That too was out in panic. He could've shot his last two bullets in the head if he wasn't.

Once again Jamis lies on his back. He was groaning in pain from another broken arm. Now, he can't even hold his gun properly anymore. His eyes fixed on Rio's standing figure. Confusing how is he is still alive when he puts a bullet hole in his head. Another second passed, Rio looked around and then he opened his mouth.

"Eh, what just happened? What was I doing?" Hearing a word from Rio, Jamis was surprised and confused at the same time. Looking at Rio's expression, he definitely was oblivious as to what was going on in the past 5 seconds.

"You... What did you do?!" Hearing a question from Jamis, Rio didn't answer. Rio then touched the bullet wound that was on his forehead. Rio realized something and spoke back...

"I don't know... To be honest, I don't know anything. I don't know what's going on with me for the past few days..." Rio took out something from inside the bullet wound. It was the bullet itself.

"The bullet didn't go all the way through. It barely hit my skull. It's like there is some kind of force or 'something' inside my body is stopping them. This one too. And this one too." Rio took out the bullets that were inside of his body. Jamis didn't have a word as to what he was seeing in front of his eyes.

("If it's come to this, do I even have any chance to defeat him? With these bullets...") Jamis decided to take a chance to shoot him but he could barely lift up his arm anymore. The right arm that's been cut in half and the broken left arm.

" By the way, I realized something a while ago. You... are the kind that's quick to panic right? It's hella loud breathing you got there so it's quite obvious. So forget about trying to defeat me, Jamis. You couldn't barely lift a finger anymore. I suggest you give up and heal yourself up."

Hearing a word from Rio didn't calm him up. Instead, He tried to stand on his two feet. Slowly standing up, Jamis's breathing slowly became quiet. It seems that he has calmed himself. Rio shows pity because of Jamis's two unusable arms. But Jamis rejected the feelings of pity itself. That's because from 20 people from this class have every personality given. But, they have 1 common trait. That is... Pride.

"I'm sorry bud, but there is no option for me to surrender nor flee here."

The feelings of pity only make them worse. That's what they're thinking. Most of them refuse to take help from others and some of them have to take a leap of bounds in order to move forward, even if it kills them.

"So, you refuse to give up... uh..." Rio with only his bare hand and Jamis with two unusable arms. They stare at each other. Everything went silent. Until the finger breaks the silence itself. Rio charges at Jamis at full speed. Meanwhile, Jamis lifts the object called a smoke grenade with his left arm with everything he has.

Rio's punch was about to reach Jamis. But he was late by 1 second. Jamis pulls the pin of a smoke grenade with his mouth. Covering the whole area with smoke. Rio instantly loses sight of him.

("Shit, I lose sight of him. But I need to get out of this smoke-")

*Bang*

("What, The gunshot from left?!") Rio reflex blocks the bullet that is targeting his head.

*Bang*

Another shot from the back.

*Bang*

And another shot.

("Kuh, one by one the bullets hits me! Even if I'm inside the smoke! It's like he knows my exact position even inside the smoke! Also, how is he shooting me with those two arms?!") Rio is getting a barrage of bullets piercing his body. Rio is starting to lose focus and decides to dash outside the smoke. But as he went outside the smoke...

("What?! This guy, cover the entire area with the smoke!") Rio catches a glimpse of someone from behind the tree. And it was Jamis. And he was holding a revolver in his right hand.
