Sanryu is awakened by the warm, beaming rays of the sun, which stream through the window.
"Uhhuahhh!" Sanryu raises his head from the pillow, and turns his gaze towards the goddess next to him, Lurue is currently still sleeping, but Sanryu has no intention of disturbing her sleep, so he gets out of bed carefully.
The first thing he does is wash his face with cold water, and he cleans his teeth. To then put on his armor and equip his sword. "We will see each other later." He whispers these words to the woman asleep on the bed, even though she is asleep, the boy closes the door delicately and leaves.
"Stupid Sanryu..." Lurue whispers these words, she pretended to be asleep, but she didn't let Sanryu see it.
Sanryu goes to the innkeeper and asks if it was possible to receive a breakfast, which the innkeeper has no problem doing. Sanryu eats the breakfast prepared quite quickly by the innkeeper, and then asks if he could prepare the same breakfast for his partner too, when she wakes up, which the innkeeper assured was not a problem. The boy pays for both his and Lurue's breakfast, and then leaves the inn and heads towards the guild.
'Who knows what mission I will be able to accomplish today.' Sanryu seems to enjoy undertaking the guild's missions, even if they aren't exactly fun adventures.
'But I still have Fenrya's words in my mind, I can't stop thinking about them... who knows what she meant.' And with these words, the boy reaches the guild headquarters, and after entering, he immediately heads towards the flyer noticeboard. "Let's see what we can deal with..."
"Sanryu?" A familiar voice interrupts Sanryu's search for missions to choose from and turns his face towards the person calling him.
"Ziria, I see you woke up early too." Sanryu greets Ziria, the girl he met last day.
"Of course...I didn't really want to sleep. Are you choosing the mission to carry out?" Ziria joins Sanryu and begins to observe the flyers too.
"Yes, I got up early for this very reason, did you also wake up to go on a mission?" Sanryu continues his search for her, while asking the girl if she also wants to go on the mission.
"Well...more or less, we can say that." Ziria seems very vague in her response, but at a certain point, the girl had an idea. "How about we go on a mission together? It'll be easier for both of us that way." Sanryu turns his attention towards Ziria, and ponders the proposal that the girl makes him.
"Mhh why not? I don't see where the problem is if we do it together, but which one do we want to choose?" Zaria feels strangely happy that Sanryu accepted her proposal, she begins to look for a mission to face with the boy.
"How about this?" Zaria shows the flyer she spotted to Sanryu.
"Apparently there is an infurnace that is causing problems for the surrounding ecosystem, we can accept it, but we must be careful, an infurnace is a dangerous beast due to its deadly poison." Sanryu warns Zaria that the creature in question is a difficult enemy to face, and one must be careful.
"No problem, I can counter his acid spit with my fire magic." Ziria seems confident in her abilities, to which she convinces Sanryu, so the two go to the counter to get the boot from the guild.
"Well, let's go find this beast." Sanryu tells Zaria to walk towards the forest.
After about thirty minutes, the duo is in the middle of the forest looking for this furnace. "By the way, aren't you with your partner today?" Zaria asks Sanryu a question, a faint blush on her cheeks.
"You mean Lurue? When I woke up, she was still sleeping, I didn't have the courage to wake her up." Sanryu observes Ziria, she is carefully looking at her sorceress clothing. Zaria wears a pointed hat, designed with two different colors, the inside is red while the outside is black, with golden yellow outlines. She has a gothic dress that tightens at the waist, with the neckline of the chest exposed, she has long black sleeves that cover her entire arms, with gloves on her hands. Her upper dress ends with a wide skirt at the end of it, all colored like her hair, i.e. red is black. He is wearing black stockings, which cover all his legs up to his feet, where he is wearing black heels, with gold patterns around them. As a weapon he has a black wand with a red gem at the tip of it, shaped like a prism.
"Did you have any problems yesterday when you came home?" Suddenly Sanryu comes up with a speech.
"What? No, no problem, the servants immediately prepared the bath for me and I was able to take off those torn clothes, it's to take a relaxing bath, by the way I forgot my cloak, I didn't think I'd meet you at the guild, at this time of morning.
"As I told you, it's not a problem, but your father didn't ask you anything?" Sanryu asks about the girl's father.
"He wasn't even at home when I came back, that's when he came back late at night, he didn't even ask about me, I don't think he cares much." Zaria seems sad, and Sanryu curses himself for asking about her father.
"I don't think he doesn't care, he most likely has a lot of thoughts on his mind." Sanryu tries to make up for her mistake.
"Thoughts more important than your daughter, I guess so." Zaria seems to get even more sad, apparently she has issues with her father.
"Zaria, you know that this is not the case, your father is a Marquis right? Perhaps in these last few days he has a lot to do, and his attention is drawn to urgent matters, which are probably a threat to the people, it is consequently also a threat to his daughter, don't you think?" Sanryu tries to reason with Zaria.
"Maybe you're right." Zaria seems to change her expression, but just when the girl's mood had recovered a little, a creature comes out of the bushes.
"You're behind me, Zaria! We found it, the furnace!" Sanryu stands in front of the girl, in order to protect Zaria. "Zaria, I will be the vanguard, while you will strike from afar, understood?" Sanryu asks the girl if she understood what to do, Zaria nods her head, indicating that she understands.
The infurnace is a kind of lizard, slightly larger than a wolf, with metallic gray scales, while the upper part of the body, especially on the back, is colored red, with crests on it. A long tail with some spines on it, on its head there are two medium-sized horns, curved upwards, from its facue, it secretes green slurry liquid, its deadly poison.
'If that poison hits me...I'm screwed.' Sanryu draws his sword and assumes a battle stance, looking straight into the creature's eyes. The slitted eyes, dirty yellow in color, look towards the boy, and the infurnace begins to show its fangs to the couple, trying to instill fear in the humans. "Don't be afraid, Zaria, as long as I'm here, the fire won't attack you, you'll see that everything will be fine." Sanryu notices the girl's nervousness and somehow tries to instill courage in her. 'We cannot afford to get bogged down in fear, we must react if we are to complete this mission.'
Sanryu doesn't wait any longer, she immediately charges towards the fire, the latter seeing that her opponents are not petrified by fear of her, begins to fight as well, spitting poisonous bile at the boy. Sanryu had foreseen such a reaction, so he easily avoided those blows, never slowing her charge. "Taken!" Sanryu easily reaches the creature, and manages to land a slash on its neck, but to his dismay, he didn't count on one small factor, the lizard's scales. In fact, the sword slams violently against the scales of the neck, causing small sparks to pop, causing the sword itself to rebound, denting it a little.
"It's hard!" Sanryu distances himself from the furnace, planning an attack plan to eliminate the furnace. 'Apparently my simple iron sword, can't penetrate his scaly skin...so I have to aim for soft parts of the body, so the circle narrows.' Sanryu targets the lizard's eyes, the only weak spot in plain sight.
The infurnace does not wait for the enemy's attack, so it charges him first, trying to kill Sanryu. But just when he is about to approach the boy, a fireball hurtles towards the lizard, throwing it a few meters ahead. But not only the beast is hit by the magic, Saryus is also thrown away by the effect of the explosion, even if the damage is minimal, only some burns on the leather armor, as the boy manages to cover his face with his arms .
"SANRYU!" Ziria screams, panicked.
"I'm fine! Don't come any closer, it's not over yet." Sanryu reassures the girl and warns Ziria that the creature is still alive.
In fact the infurnace is still standing, even if its side has some burns, Sanryu takes advantage of this moment to get closer and at least try to cause fatal damage, but the infurnace notices the boy's presence and fires its poison at its.
Sanryu barely avoids the beast's attack, and just when he wants to attack again, the lizard has disappeared into the forest. "She's escaped, damned lizard, Zaria, let's chase her, we can still catch her." Sanryu encourages the girl to run, but she doesn't really seem like an athletic woman, so she puts the idea aside almost immediately. "Well we can always follow her trail, don't worry Zaria." Sanryu resheaths the sword and reassures the girl.
"I'm a magician, how do you expect me to be able to track a lizard as fast as a horse?" Zaria admonishes Sanryu.
"You're right, still a good shot, even if I risked burning my face." Sanryu congratulates Zaria's magic.
"T-it wasn't much, in fact I can do much better, but I held back." Zaria looks away and his cheeks turn red.
"Ahah then it's done, all you need to do is fire a magic powerful enough to kill him in one shot." Sanryu says a random joke.
"Mh I'll try." Apparently the girl took the boy's joke seriously.
"Then I think we'd better start following the fire." Sanryu begins walking, with Zaria following soon after.
The couple begins to follow the creature's footsteps, hoping to find it and eliminate it, in order to conclude the mission, the adventure continues.
