Chapter 7 - Sanryu's journey begins

"Do you want to start traveling too?! Are you saying this all of a sudden?" At this moment, the Ayanokoji family is eating their breakfast, and Ichinose is taken aback by this sudden declaration from young Sanryu. "Don't you think you're a little too young, Sanryu? Couldn't you wait at least two more years, just like your sister did?" Ichinose is still recovering from her daughter's departure, let alone enduring a second departure from her son.

"No, mother, I have decided that I will begin my journey now. I am not as strong as Yasaze, but I have a feeling that if I continue to stay here I will not improve my war skills any further. I must forge my destiny beyond this village... I must do it." Sanryu seems firmly convinced of his ideas. 'On the one hand it was Lurue who pressured me to travel, but on the other hand I am the one who wants to undertake this journey, I feel like if I left this village I would finally be able to awaken my power.'

"Are you really sure of that, Sanryu? To be honest, I don't think you're ready for a journey, but just like you said, only experience in the field will help you grow." Kiyotaka has his arms crossed and unlike his wife, he is very calm. "I think you have understood that I can no longer teach you anything as a swordsman, I know that what I am about to tell you is not nice at all but I will have to do it anyway, Sanryu you will never be a great ruler of the Kaze no āto, you don't have the ability, unlike Yasaze." Sanryu finally heard what he had feared his entire life, the harsh truth of his skills with the katana. "But I feel that that is not the path you should follow, you are destined for something different, perhaps even superior, you must not be discouraged, my son." But immediately after the sad truth, excellent news is revealed to him by his own father.

"Y-you really believe that, Father?" Sanryu places his hands on the table, caught up in the excitement of this fantastic news.

"Of course, my son, I have no reason to tell you lies, but remember that only with sacrifice and determination, you will be able to reach that level, most likely you will have to try many times more than other swordsmen." Kiyotaka is happy to see his son's joy, but warns him that he must work hard to achieve his goals.

"Obviously! I will not give up for any reason in the world, I solemnly promise that I will achieve these goals." Sanryu swears to himself that he would climb the heights of this world to become stronger.

"This is the right spirit, my boy!" Kiyotaka is proud to see this enthusiasm from Sanryu. "But now let me suggest how to start your adventure. I assume you want to be an adventurer, right?" Kiyotaka wants to guide his son on the first steps of his journey.

"Yes, I want to go to a guild and sign up as an adventurer, at least at the beginning, after all I need money to survive, being an adventurer is the most reticent job, it's comfortable for someone like me." Sanryu believes that being an adventurer is the easiest way to start his journey.

"Very good, you are right about that fact, but you must know that the profession of an adventurer is the most dangerous job, since to live you always have to go on adventures, and sometimes, these adventures take you to dangerous places or very bad situations. You always have to manage to get by, but if you can, you can also find adventure companions to undertake these missions with, but be careful, not all people are as kind and honest as our family." Kiyotaka warns his son to be very careful with every person he meets on his path.

"I see, people can be more dangerous than the beasts themselves, right?" Sanryu remembers one of the phrases that his father said to him in the past, Kiyotaka nods at the phrase that his son says.

"In the cellar I have some basic equipment that can help you in the first steps of your journey, I won't be able to give you Kazewokiru, since I already gave it to Yasaze, and I don't regret it, after all she will have to follow the Kaze no āto, it's the my katana is the most suitable sword. For now I will be able to give you a simple two-handed iron sword, I believe that the blades of this land suit you more than the katanas of my country." Kiyotaka takes a simple two-handed sword from a chest in the corner of the kitchen and gives it to his son.

"This is fine, father, then I will choose the weapon best suited to my fighting style." Sanryu gladly accepts the sword his father gives him.

"Sanryu...I'm still not convinced of this decision of yours, but if you are so determined, I can't help but support your decision." Ichinose doesn't seem at all convinced by her son's decision, but she can't do much to change his mind. "At least I'll prepare you some rations that can feed you for a few days." Ichinose immediately sets about preparing some food for Sanryu to consume for a certain period of time.

"I'll go get the equipment from the cellar, while you prepare everything you need, I'm sure you already know what you need, right?" Kiyotaka leaves Sanryu alone to arrange her tools and everything she needs for the trip.

"You prepared me, father, I know everything I need." Sanryu runs to his room to start preparing everything, but he forgot for a single moment that there is also another person besides him, in his room.

"You're finally back, so when are we leaving?" Lurue is still lying on the bed and she doesn't seem to have any intention of putting anything on, as she is still naked.

"Don't you have anything to wear? It's hard for me to look at you seriously, let alone calm my instincts." Sanryu finds it difficult to keep the lesser beast calm with the sight of the goddess's naked body.

"Fufu you just can't resist my body can you? But I don't have a problem with you looking at me like this, after all we've done it many times before." Lurue changes her posture from lying down to sitting.

"The problem is the people outside, you can't let them see you like this, for now he's wearing this, as soon as we reach the first town, we'll buy some clothes for you." Sanryu takes a large cloak from her closet and gives it to Lurue.

"How boring, I find it annoying to wear such intrusive clothing, in nature you can be perfectly naked or at most you just wear some clothing to cover your private areas, but if you are so envious that other males can see my body, then I will have to do Like this." Lurue teases poor Sanryu.

"I never said that, but think whatever you want anyway." Sanryu immediately counters Lurue's words, but she doesn't want to continue the conversation. "Now I'll have to prepare everything we need for this trip, by the way...you haven't eaten anything yet, aren't you hungry?" Sanryu remembers that Lurue hasn't eaten anything since she arrived here.

"No need, we gods don't need food or water, our body absorbs the energy that pervades Ethia, it transforms into our nourishment." Lurue wears the cape and she sees how she looks on him.

"I understand, it's a shame you don't know what you're missing, the food is very good and there is various types of it all over the world, I'll let you try it even if you don't need it." Sanryu wants Lurue to try human food, even though Lurue doesn't need it.

"I don't think it's that important, but it doesn't cost anything to try." Lurue has no problem tasting human food.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

After setting everything up, Sanryu puts a large camping backpack on his shoulders and tells Lurue to climb out the window, but to be careful not to be seen by anyone.

"Good, I see you've prepared what you need, but before you leave, put this on and let's see if it fits." Kiyotaka gives the equipment to his son, and he wants to see if she gives it to him.

The equipment Sanryu wears is simple leather semi-armor, which mostly protects vital areas, such as the heart. Of the armguards, of the shin guards, of the boots, of the gloves is a shoulder pad on the left shoulder, all of a light brown color. A lining was attached to the leather belt to insert her sword, which she placed immediately.

"Perfect, I notice that it looks good on you and I think it looks good on you, do you find it uncomfortable?" Kiyotaka asks Sanryu if the armor isn't in his way.

"No, it's fine, everything is perfect, thank you father." Sanryu tries to see if the armor is blocking any movement, but luckily everything is in the right place.

"This is a bag with some silver inside, it's one last thing. When you arrive in the first city, if there is a guild hall in it, you will need some documents to register, here they are, I made them in time back in the day for both you and your sister, I knew that sooner or later you would choose this path, so I took advantage." Kiyotaka gives Sanryu's documents to his son.

"So I won't have to go through all those procedures to get my documents produced, thank you father." Sanryu has now lost count of the times he has thanked his father today, but this is the least he can do to repay him for his efforts.

"It's nothing son, while we were talking, your mother has already filled the bag with food and drinking water." Kiyotaka makes his son look at the bag full of him.

"That's quick, thanks mom." Sanryu is impressed by her mother's efficiency and thanks her with a bow.

"You're welcome, darling." Ichinose responds with a smile to his son.

"Well, I think it's time to say goodbye, mother, father." Sanryu places his backpack on his shoulders and opens the front door.

"Have a good trip, my son." Kiyotaka wishes his son a good journey.

"Be careful please." Ichinose's eyes seem to be watering.

"I will, thanks again for everything." Sanryu waves goodbye, is leaving the house behind him, begins with his first steps towards his adventure.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

"You've finally arrived, I've been waiting for you for a long time, come on let's go." Lurue was sitting on a rock, near a path leading out of the village, wearing the brown cloak Sanryu gave her.

"Sorry I'm late, but I had to at least say goodbye to my parents, we can go now." Sanryu had to at least thank her parents, it's the least she could do for everything they did for him.

"So how do we proceed, you know these lands, do you know where we need to go?" Lurue comes down from the rock, she is walking next to Sanryu.

"Our first stop is the nearby city of Deria, famous for training many soldiers, in fact most of the trained men start from this city." Sanryu explains their first stop. "Maybe we'll even discover the prince's movements, if we're lucky." Sanryu hasn't forgotten that promise to Lurue.

"Well, a city of warriors, maybe I can even see if there are any worthy opponents." Lurue always seems to be obsessed with fighting.

"I don't think anyone could keep up with you, Lurue, they're soldiers, but they're still human, and you're a goddess, don't forget that." Sanryu wants to avoid a catastrophe before the worst happens.

"You're not entirely wrong, no human will ever be able to beat me in a duel." Lurue seems proud of her strength.

And so the journey of young Sanryu begins, who knows what awaits him in the future.
