I used to be happy. I used to be social, I used to make the most friends, and used to be the class clown.
But now, I'm the laughing stock. The victim of bullying. Anti-social. Minimal friends as well.
How did it become like this?
My name is James. I'm a young teenager suffering from severe social anxiety, and you don't want to experience the feeling of it.
To know where all of my problems began, let's go back to my elementary days.
It was the best feeling ever. I had no problems, responsibilities, bullying, and nothing else to worry about.
I really thought it would just get better when I grow up. But, I was wrong.
When I finally became a first-year in highschool, my mother died due to a severe asthma attack, while my father became abusive and an alcoholic right after mother's death.
Even worse, I didn't have any of the time to wash my clothes, do due assignments, and listen to lessons since I kept becoming sleep-deprived.
This was the lowest point of my life.
But, even all that with my social anxiety, I miraculously made a singular friend.
I thought that I found my light, but it was a fake.
They were bullies. Their target was me all along.
Every single day, they ask for my lunch money, and drown my face in a inconspicuous toilet in the bathroom.
My social anxiety turned severe, and I developed trust issues, which made my everyday life much harder.
I already had an abusive dad, social anxiety, but I now gained a new handicap, trust issues and bullies.
My life is going downhill at this point.
At this time, in my trash-filled room, I was absolutely invested by songs on TV.
Yet again, I overcame my social anxiety and decided to take a risk, by joining the school band.
It was fun, my life was now going uphill, and I'm the vocalist for the band.
I shined in the stage with my impressive singing abilities, and gained an award for presenting on stage.
There, I started to become more confident on myself.
