The purple Shroom men jumped into the battle field and then it flexed all of its muscles before a large gas of purple poison spread out from it. The gas entered the humen's body, and as it did, it weakened their bodies.
Some of the humans even started to fall down and foaming at the mouth as they started to twitch.
"How weak." The purple Shroom said as he looked down on them. Some of the heroes at a much further range started to send attacks after attack.
But they were kept occupied by the arrows of the Shroom men. Each strike of the arrows easily took a hero out of the occasion.
"So, you are the leader." One of the higher ranked hero said.
"I am but the leader of this little battalion. But yes. I guess you can call me the leader."
"Great now die." The person charged forward and tried to pierce the body of the Shroom man, but the sword he weld could not even pierce through the skin.
"You are too weak." The Shroom man said, he punched the person, sending them into the ground.
The poisonous gas started to spread all over the place. Even the heroes in the back were not spared. So they did the only reasonable thing. They ran, the ones with a returner's stone used them and teleported away. After all, they were outnumbered surrounded and poison just around the corner.
So they could only run away. They went away, hundreds of heroes ran with their tails between their legs. The other heroes that couldn't get away were left behind as the Shroom men captured them. They had their limbs bound and were placed into cages. In these cages, they couldn't even use their quirks. All they could do is sit and look down, eat the meal they are given and sleep.
That is all that awaites the fate of those that were captured, which makes up a large amount of them. After all, only three hundred of them managed to run away.
"What do you mean most of them died?!" A government higher up shouted.
"Exactly that, we were only told of a few monsters, we were told that they were weak, we were told that there were only a few monsters. We were told wrong.
The first thing we encountered were thousands of insects, each of which are more powerful than a human, bears that could shot sonic waves from their maws, a python that was larger than a house, trees that use their roots as whips, and an army of over two thousand mushroom people with three of them being equal to some of our best heroes. How is that easy?" The operation leader deadpanned.
"What do you mean, I received no such report."
"Maybe they didn't travel far enough, every time someone goes into the dungeon, it is always within a small area, that area only has a few weak mushroom and leaf monsters. We traveled for over a day before we encountered the stronger monsters."
"I see, I will need to add that to the archives. You may go now, you will be paid for your troubles."
The leader could only bow and leave. He had lost over half of his people and now he was just expected to go on like it never happened.
"What is the point of this?!" One of the prisoners shouted. He had been held in a cage for the past two weeks. He held the bars of his cage and tried to rock it. But he could not do it.
The other captains walked as their hands and legs were chained up. They looked at the place they would spend the rest of their lives in. It was basically a prison. If one thing the other world had taught Alexander, it was how to make a great prison. The system and style was pretty good and efficient.
The new prisoners were placed into their cells and kept there. Their limbs still chained and bound. Everywhere they could see, there were Shroom men, the ones that delivered their food were all close combatants and the ones that watched over them at the center used bows.
Many of them knew the power of each strike, from either bow or hammer, they knew the power of each of them. They looked around and saw many people depressed sitting in their cages, looking down.
"Hey." One of the new prisoners got the attention of one of the older ones.
"What do you want?" He asked without even looking at him.
"Why are you like that? We have to find a way to escape." He said like it was the most obvious thing ever.
"And how will we do that, this place it made so that the ones in the center can easily shot you down, each arrow can incapacitate a man, there are no obstacles to hide behind. Need I remind you, our quirks are weakened, this dungeon half the power of our quirks, but besides that, these chains and these cages completely restrict our quirks. And say you somehow get out of these cages and out of the chains, this prison restricts our quirks to only be around a fifth of our strength.
If you think these mushroom monsters have any care or interest in each other you are wrong, someone once tried to escape, he somehow got out the the cage and chains, he used his quirk and made one of the mushroom monster his shield, the mushroom monster was killed by the arrows of the ones at the center tower. The monster turned to dust and the person was shot by the monsters at the center.
So, let me tell you, you have almost no chance of getting out, you might not know since it seems you were unconscious when you were brought here, but we are three days walk from the entrance of the dungeon. That means we are around fifty miles away from the entrance, there is a lot of space in that amount of distance. And need I remind you, you probability never even knew people were held captive here."
"I, I see. So what are we to do, are we to mine, forge, farm?"
"Nothing."
"What?"
"Nothing, I have been here for around a month I think, there is no such thing as a day and night here, but I think it was around a month. Anyways, during my month here, I have done nothing."
"Then why would they keep us?"
"I heard many rumors, from fattening us to eat us, but none of us are fattened, breaking our minds, but nothing has really been done to do that, sacrificing us, but no one has been killed or taken away, never had a cage that used to hold someone been empty. The most reasonable one I can think of is that this tree is slowly taking our life force."
"Our life force?"
"Yes, it is taking our life force, that can also explain why some people here seem to have aged a lot even if they were here for a few days."
"I see. So what now?"
"All we can do is wait and hope something happens."
The next day, something happened.
