The Interstellars, the ones who captured Silus, showed obvious disgust when looking at her, except one.… the fireball girl.. Silus had to learn her name. But.. she hasn't seen her in a while.. not since the fireball girl's conversation with 'Supernova'.
Silus, Silus, Silus, Silus. She almost forgot her name, with how much she's called 'Princess' in a sarcastic or hateful tone. It's been quite a few weeks since she's been captured, she hasn't eaten. She's pretty sure it's because her existence is the equivalent of nothing to these Interstellars.
Though.. on her first day here, there was someone with a red glow that she hasn't seen since that day. She wondered if she hallucinated that one.
Silus felt like she was being watched, but she couldn't see anyone. Odd..
She looked around her cell, for anything she could see. Nope. All she saw were corpses and…. A faint red color, that looked like glowing.. she went to investigate it and she saw that the glowy bits were in places that an Interstellar would have. That meant.. Silus was once again afraid, backing away.
The Interstellar revealed himself, "Don't be afraid, I won't hurt you." The red glow guy said. Silus didn't believe him. Yeah.. sure.. she thought, "I really promise I won't. I hate Supernova as much as the Eutharians." Red glow guy continues.
Wait..he said 'Eutharians'... Nobody here did that..
"I'm sorry– are you not Eutharians?" He asked. It was like he could read her mind—
"I actually can read your mind." He said. he saw that Silus was paralyzed with fear, "I told you, I'm not going to hurt you, I hate Supernova." That made Silus sort of calm but again this was still an Interstellar, but.. if he wanted to, he would have already hurt her.. right..?
"I-I trust you.." Silus said.. but then she added, "I think.." the red glow guy slightly nodded.
"Mn. That's good." He backed away and clouds of shadows pulled him in and he was gone. Silus was left wondering if trusting him was a good idea or not.. she still didn't know.. and she was still worried about the fireball girl.
She was still wondering when the Blue one was walking past her cell, maybe she could use this to ask after the fireball girl and the red glow guy. "Miss? Where is the fireball girl..?" Silus asked but she remembered she left someone out, "Oh and.. red glow guy.." the blue one looked at her, confused, then thought for a second.
"Fireball girl? Red glow guy? Uhh.. oh! You mean Risen and Shadow." Then she started thinking again, "Wait.. when did Shadow come to visit you..?" The blue one glared at her and then walked away, mumbling.
Silus watched her go. since Silus had accepted the fact that she would eventually die here, she lost all hope of getting out, anyway.
She wondered if anybody was looking for her, she wondered if the war was even still happening.. she slapped herself, of course it is. The hatred between Eutharians and Interstellars runs deeper than the Aki River. All Silus knows about it, stuff she'd learned from the interstellars around her, is that it's because of someone Supernova hates. That's all she knows.
Maybe if she survived here and got back to Ruan, where she was before she was captured, maybe.. just maybe.. she could try to find out more. That possibility was very slim though. Suddenly the one with the mint green glow skated by, saying: "Dang it.. Tide pool, we were supposed to meet up to discuss war tactics!"
Silus heard someone call from down the hall "You'll have to catch me then, Mr. Fast boii!" The voice belonged to the one with the blue glow, so Silus assumed the blue glow girl was named Tide pool.
She had to be right, if she wasn't, she would continuously try to dye her hair. Anyways, she lied down to sleep. Hopefully she'll be alright in the morning.
[THE NEXT DAY]
She was woken up by the smell of pancakes and hot chocolate, as her eyes slowly opened she saw a red light, she instantly got up and backed away. But then she remembered the day before where she (kind of) befriended this Interstellar who was apparently named Shadow. His dark eyes looked at her and he said, "Oh, come on! You still don't trust me?"
She started walking up to him, "I.. kinda do.." she said, quietly. She silently stared at the pancakes and hot chocolate. They were her favorite food, but she was too afraid to ask for some.
"Go ahead, I don't really need food to survive so I brought this for you." He said, "Y'know, so you can eat something. I am sure Supernova didn't tell people to get you food."
After he said that, Silus broke into tears. She hadn't been shown much kindness in six days and she was LITERALLY five years old so..
She took the food with multiple (and I mean multiple) words of thanks.
It was good, the hot chocolate burned her mouth, but it was good. The pancakes were drenched in syrup, so it was good. She talked a bit with Shadow and found out two more names: the one with the mint green glow was Wither and the one with the purple glow that she saw on her first day here was Falcon. When she finished, Shadow took the empty dish and patted her head.
Shadow also invited Silus to look around.. the.. palace (?) That she was in.. the details were: Silus would be invisible with Shadow (also invisible) and there would be a sleeping clone of her in the cell.
When Silus heard a chance to get out of the cell, even for a little bit, she was really excited. Her response was: "YES! oh—wait— I'm sorry— but that sounds awesome!" Shadow hummed in acknowledgement.
"By the way: the way the invisibility will work is we can see each other but others can't see us." He stood there for a while and then said "There, we're invisible." Silus wasn't sure if it was true or not but he could read her mind and Silus had to stop thinking stuff like: Why does this guy expect me to trust him..?
"You really should stop thinking that, I've proved multiple times that I'm on your side." He said as something appeared on the (very uncomfortable) bed that Silus was given so she could sleep. The thing that appeared was her clone. It was asleep, just as promised.
Shadow closed his eyes and suddenly they were at a fiery place with dead trees and lava rivers, it seemed as though if she left this giant walled off area, she could probably burn to death.
"Yeah.. the palace is one of the few safe places on Flamelight." Shadow said right next to Silus.
"Flamelight..?" Silus didn't know much about Interstellar-Beings and she surely knew NOTHING of 'Flamelight'.
"The planet of the falling ashes, Risens domain, second planet in the planetary system.. whatever you wanna call it." Shadow answered, Silus made an 'Oh' sound and looked at the few dead trees she saw, for some reason they intrigued her.
"Dead trees are intriguing to you?" Shadow asked and Silus shrugged. She replied with: "They're cool.."
"Well, I'd say the opposite. We're like.. one planet away from a star, so I'd say they're pretty hot.." Shadow remarked, Silus had to laugh. It was the first time she'd laughed in six days, so.. it felt pretty good to laugh.
"Thank you.." She said to Shadow, she was hoping this wasn't some sick dream, though.. all her dreams before this weren't quite as pleasant..
Suddenly the scenery changed, they were in a Armory, They were in a basalt dome, there were weapons like spears, glaves, swords and battle axes hung up on the wall right below a line of lava in the wall that almost made Silus jump before she realized that it was encased in obsidian. She followed the line of lava to a circular pit full of lava at the other end of the room. There was an anvil made of a material that Silus didn't recognize in the center of the room surrounded by bins of maces, hand axes and flails.. stuff like that.
Silus was even more fascinated. All her life (still five years) she had been told that Interstellar beings were.. 'Dumb star ducks' at least, she thought that was what the last word was.
"Wow, that is.. quite the insult.." Shadow remarked, for a second Silus had forgotten that he could read minds. "Well, this is the Armory,"
"Why is it called the Armory if it has weapons and not armor..?" Silus asked, Shadow backed up to an arrow stuck in the wall that looked like it was pointing up and he grabbed it and pulled it down.
The lights started flickering then turned off, but one second later they turned back on and it was like Silus was imagining the weapons because it was suddenly all armor.
Silus walked up to a helmet that she thought was cool because the helmet was made of a metal that Silus didn't recognize. It had a fire crest in the center and two horns in the front that appeared to be made of molten metal. There were also horns coming out of the back that were made of fire and looked like fiery shadows of the first set of horns. A fireball floated above the helmet, it reminded Silus of Risen. There was a visor made of what appeared to be molten glass and near the sides of the jaw was made of obsidian.
Silus was in Awe, the helmet was incredible, it was way better than anything they have on Ruan. Shadow noticed her expression and said, "..Ya done?" and that made Silus snap out of it.
"Yeah..! yeah, I am.." Silus responded, Still entranced by the helmet, Shadow seemed like he was trying not to laugh and he started patting Silus's head saying, "It's okay, child." but immediately after that, he burst out laughing.
While he was laughing, his hand rested on her head until she removed it. Silus didn't know why he was laughing, but she smiled, this was the most genuine laughter she had heard in a while.
I wonder what fire ball— I mean.. Risen.. I wonder what Risen is doing.. Immediately after, Shadow stopped laughing and looked at Silus with a crazy look in his dark eyes and said, "You wanna see..???" Silus didn't question the crazy look and just nodded.
The surroundings around them started to change again until they were in a room that had dark gray bricks, giant bookshelves, obsidian windows with light red curtains, a chandelier with candles that were pinkish-red, red, orange, yellow, yellow-green, green, blue, violet, purple, and white.
It was beautiful, she never thought she would see so many cool things, especially during the war while she was literally imprisoned.
"It's Risen's study." Shadow said that like it was obvious, though it kind of was kind of obvious. Silus had seen many Studies before, she just.. assumed Interstellars were too dumb to have them..
Shadow glanced at her and Silus didn't need mind reading powers to know that that look ment 'Oh wow' so now she felt bad. Shadow just closed his eyes and put his hand on her head.
Silus could hear footsteps coming their way, and odd mumbling, the doors opened and Risen walked in, looking exhausted. The door closed behind her and she walked to a bookshelf, it looked like she was looking for a specific book.
She grabbed a book, a beat up leather journal. She brought the journal to her desk. Another day of trying to figure out what this journal says.. great. Silus was very alarmed, so alarmed that she fell onto the floor. she glanced at Shadow, who was dying of laughter.
When he stopped laughing, he explained: "I gave you the power to read her mind." and then he continued to laugh. Risen looked their way and her eyes widened. Shadow stopped laughing and said "Oh, stars–" and they both heard: Was I hallucinating..? Was that the kid and Shadow..? What in the stars is going on???
Suddenly someone walked in carrying a tray of snacks, the person looked about eighteen years old, and they had a white glow. it wasn't supernova, obviously, this one actually KNEW WHAT PANTS WERE AND DIDN'T WEAR BALL GOWNS EVERY SECOND OF EVERY DAY.
Anyway, this one looked like a cool person. Silus had her back turned to Risen so when Risen thought: Oh, Solar… she jumped. again.
"Hey, Risen..! I brought you some snacks because I saw that you were tired and I know that you like the snacks that the kitchen staff makes.. so I brought you some snacks from the kitchen..!" The one apparently called 'Solar' said.
Silus thought Solar looked cool, Shadow turned to her and said "Cool? Remember what I said about the trees? that applies to her too."
Silus may be only five, but an old man can still annoy her.
Shadow's head immediately snapped toward Silus, "Old?! Little girl, how old do you think I am?!" Shadow sounded offended and then continued before Silus could answer, "I'm only thirty-two!"
Silus, as a five year old, still thought that was pretty old.
"You want an example of old?! Y'know Supernova?? the yellow one?? the one who looks like a banana but if a banana could wear a ball gown? She's old! She is over twenty thousand years old! She's the old one, not me!!"
Silus decided not to laugh at that, it would be impolite. And Shadow looked at her with a look that said 'Really? You're choosing NOW to be polite?'
I can't set the princess free, if I did, Solar would be killed..
And again the young princess, Silus, jumped and Shadow tried not to laugh. Risen looked directly at them, Silus guessed that Risen saw them again.
Shadow sighed and said, "I'll make it so she's able to see us."
It seemed like Shadow's magic failed, because Solar's eyes widened to pinpoints, she almost screamed but Risen sushed her.
"The princess doesn't need to be in that cell, she is five years old." Shadow said, Solar reluctantly glanced at the princess of Ruan and sighed.
"What should we do then..?" she asked, clearly confused as to why two first circles were being kind to a 'Ruined'.
Shadow and Risen glanced at each other, immediately concluding.
"I'm not sure.." Shadow said, putting his hand on Silus's shoulder.
The day passed faster than Silus thought it would, after Shadow made them invisible again they finished the tour around Risens palace. It was fun for Silus, but she couldn't help but think about the plan that Shadow mentioned. Eventually, Shadow convinced her not to worry about it. Now, she was lying in her cell, acting like today had never happened. What else is going to happen..? she thought, drifting off to a (thankfully) dreamless sleep.
